Daniel finds that O'Neill has unconsciously written the location of the Lost City in a crossword puzzle, but Sam tells that they need the address of the planet. However Daniel discovers the necessary address and discloses it to Dr. Weir, but Sam recalls that the Stargate in this planet is probably buried and they need to use a spacecraft. Jack separates supplies in the store room and asks Sam to bring a Naquadah generator also. They travel with Teal'c and Bra'tac in the spaceship of their new acquaintance Ronan. Jack uses part of the supplies to make the ship go faster. Meanwhile Anubis is threatening Earth and President Hayes warns the governments of his Allies to make aware of the situation. Will the SG-1 find the Lost City and protect Earth?
With advance knowledge from Master Bra'tac that Anubis will soon attack Earth, O'Neil and Daniel Jackson work to find the lost city of the Ancients and a weapon that allow them to defeat Goa'uld warlord. Slowly, Jack becomes conscious of information from the Ancients library. With that information, they set off in a ship acquired by Master Bra'tac. They arrived at an ice covered world and O'Neill - now fully consumed with the knowledge of the Ancients - shows them the location of the lost city - in Antarctica on Earth. While SG-1 scrambles to get home, Earth finds itself under attack. General Hammond is put in command of the Prometheus but it's clear that their weaponry is insufficient to defeat Anubis. Their only hope is that SG-1 will return with the weapons they need.
A really great episode. Since all the explanations have been given in the first part, we now get most of the action. So instead of explaining, I guess I will simply list all the things that make this episode a fantastic finale:

• first, that it has been long in coming! Anubis has been plaguing us for several years now and last year's finale didn't constitute much of a victory in my opinion

• the really amazing and original SFX. Not just the digital bits, but all the settings and props that make the alien stuff credible.

• it's rather flattering that everything always revolves around Earth, isn't it? and the new mystery about Atlantis was a very clever way to introduce the series' spin off.

• and how nostalgic to return to the Antarctic after all this time!

• I just LOVED that Hammond finally had the opportunity to show his mettle in real action, instead of staying cooped up in the SGC. If that's his sendoff, it's a comforting one.

• to be fair, I could have done without Kinsey's rather silly show of cowardice and without this umpteenth betrayal by a "free Jaffa". Even though it was nice that losing his symbiote finally helped Brat'ak.

• obviously, the ending is suspenseful and a great moment of emotion. But my favourite little moment in the whole two-parter may be the scene between O'Neill and Teal'c in the ship. It says so much about their friendship. And I love that the whole team gets to work together once again despite O'Neill's inability to communicate anymore. These moments have become too rare.

That's what this second half of the Season 7 Finale has, literally, as Jack has gathered a bunch of Random Junk as they gate through to meet Teal'c and Bra'Tac.

Kinsey shows his true yellowish colors in all their glory here, this time he can't hide what a Sleazeball he really is, kind of like our Current Senate.

Ironically, Kinsey manipulated the replacement of General Hammond "Of Texas" with Dr. Weir of... SCTV. Jessica Steen performs her last 45 minutes of her job as Weir admirably, I often think of how "Stargate Atlantis" would have fared had she been able to continue playing Weir.

This last half also gives us the visual impression of how Stargate Atlantis would look, this is our first view of "The Chair" from the Ancient's weapons platforms- And also the fish/squid type "Ordnance" which the Chair fires upon enemies. But only in their active states, to see what these little guys look like up close, you have to refer to the pilot episode of Atlantis.

All seems to have gone well, until the expected Anubis Traitor/Agent is revealed, guess who it is? The dope had never heard of "Tritonin", and Bra'Tac did not survive almost 140 years by being a dope. And so, SG-1 appropriates yet another Alkesh Bomber. These cool rides are never in the possession of Stargate Command very long, but long enough however to do some good.

This episode caps off 7 years of the Goa'Uld storyline and opens up the story of The Ancients. Even though a few Snakeheads are still in the stories, they focus on the final destruction of the remaining System Lords, ending with Ba'Al: And new Crooks and Bad Guys come out of the woodwork, as in the Atlantis "Wraith", which really only make one appearance in SG-1. As the episode ends, strains of Music that will later be heard in Atlantis play. In fact, from this point on, whenever the Ancients are referred to this same music plays- And it becomes part of the Theme Music for Stargate Atlantis.

You may enjoy the Lord-Of-The-Rings style collision of Alkesh Bombers with X302's over the Antarctic Weapons Platform. What we do not see, is Captain Cameron Mitchell (Who will be played by Ben Browder of Farscape) single handedly kicking some Alkesh Arses, and paying a steep price. But don't worry, you *WILL* get to see that, eventually.

This episode also reflects the change in SG-1 Venues, from Showtime to the then Sci-Fi Channel. I don't remember the exact SG-1 Season which marked the full switchover, that was probably Season 9. At this point, SG-1 was being shown during Sci-Fi's Prime Time, along with Farscape, which they eventually canceled so they could take on the full production of SG-1. When the Stargate Wormhole Effects from the Feature Film were no longer being used, and they started using the "Sliders" Slide effect, that was when this show was in Full SyFi mode.
