However, to Alfred, their butler, they are Batman and Robin, scourge of Gotham City's criminals. Whenever the Police encounter a crime they cannot solve or criminal they cannot apprehend, it's Batman to whom they turn.
First I would like to say this show is childish corny but yet it is wonderful.First I should say I was not from the Batman Generation.But my father was.And when I got into the Batman fad.He would tell me great stories about the show.The video stores did not have any tapes of the show to rent except the 1966 motion picture.I rented it and thought it was great and later I got that movie for my birthday.But I still wanted to see the series.I was left in agony.But then one day the Sci-Fi channel had a marathon of the show.I watched and thought it was funny and full of great action.The show`s stories are clever.And if you looked up cliffhanger in the Dictionary it would say Batman.Watch this show no matter what generation you`re from before the bat generation after it.I really think you are going to be pleased.Holy Great Television show Batman!!!
Anyone who likes Batman as a campy idiot is not a real batman fan just and twit who has never read a comic or watched Batman the Animated Series. Adam West sucked he was a bad actor and ruined Batman for almost 30's years in the public eye. Batman was created to be a dark brooding vigilante just go back and read some of old comics from the late 30's and early 40's. In some of those early comics he was more akin to the Punisher as he would use guns to kill people. In the 80's Frank Miller helped stopped the awful cliche that Batman was a campy simpleton and made him the Dark Knight we all know today. Batman and Robin (1997) sucked because it was stupid and campy and tried to recreate the Adam West era which also sucked and ruined batman for years. You know who's lighthearted and cheesy? Superman, but no they made him dark and brooding so he'd be more like batman, which doesn't work because Superman is not Batman his costume is bright his villains are campy (though not all he has his share of dark villains and moments too) and he has incredible superpowers.
For people who may say they like to see Batman be funny and they don't like normal batman because they think he's an "emo". Batman is not an emo he witnessed his parents get murdered in front of him and devoted his life to fighting crime doesn't sound very emo to me or funny for that matter. But they don't even mention the tragic pasts of Batman or Robin there just two guys who fight crime for no reason. And this entire show was made to make fun of Batman because the creator never read any Batman comics and he just wanted to make money because people knew about Batman. So in all honesty it is fact that if you like Adam West Batman you hate Batman and are not a real fan you just like a stupid show with horrible writing and jokes bad acting that was made by idiots who didn't know a thing about batman thus by proxy making you an idiot for liking this show.
In the original DC comics, this series and the Batman movie that came along between the first and second seasons, it was millionaire Bruce Wayne and his young ward, Dick Grayson. Since the mid 90's, Bruce Wayne has been portrayed as a BILLIONAIRE in DC comics. Alfred, Bruce Wayne's loyal and faithful butler. In the comic book, Alfred's last name is Pennyworth, but it is not mentioned in the television series or the film. He's proper full name is Alfred Thaddeus Crane Pennyworth. In the comic book, Commissioner Gordon 's first name is James, but it is not mentioned in the television series or the film. He's proper full name is James Worthington Gordon, Sr. Batman's base of operations. Beneath stately Wayne Manor. They gain access to the Batcave via Batpoles hidden in Bruce's study. In the comic books the Riddler's real name was Edward Nygma (or E. Nigma) in early comic books which was later changed to Edward Nashton as his birth name. The Penguin's real name was Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot. Catwoman's real name was Selina Kyle. The Joker's real identity is uncertain. The television show and spin-off theatrical film did not make use of any of their real identities in any capacity, including flashbacks. Yes. The Green Hornet is mentioned three times on the show.
