What we do know is that we can all learn to take charge of our lives. The players are often not heard, they are focused on the game at hand, they have no time to make comparisons, or analyze how it happened before, or to count their past losses. Their aim is for the now! Wouldn't you rather be a player? When you focus on realizing a fundamental goal of your life; you'll naturally proof your relevance.

Identify areas of your unique skills where you can make impact in your community. Check the history of the world famous men and see that many of them are people who are interested in making things happen. Rather than sit back, complaining and accusing, go ahead and focus your energy on producing results in areas of your skill and competence. You don't receive an award for what you intended to do, but for what you've actually done! Your reward is in the "doing". Your relevance is in doing that which is your passion and contributes positively to your community. So, the question now is: Are You Relevant?

Last year I completed the last step toward my long-awaited BA in Communications, a degree I abandoned many years ago, when I started my career as a filmmaker. I let out a sigh of relief, and celebrated with a good glass of wine as I relished the completion of a dream. I did not dive into the re-education of Kim Watson on a whim or a dare. It was after looking at the changing landscape of my industry (film) that I concluded that it was time to add new bows to my quiver. I needed to think creatively about my future.
