If you are getting ready for aKOR Factorbig race whether you cycle, run, swim or do all in a triathlon, your training nutrition can make all the difference in how you perform on race day. You are the engine that competes in the race, but the food you eat and the nutrition you get during training is the fuel for your body. Just like an expensive race car, your body can't do without the right fuel.

Depending on the kind of workout you are doing to train, you may want to consider eating differently for a cardio or fat burning routine than you would for a muscle building training session. One thing you probably don't want to do is put in a hard weight lifting session and then go out and get on your bike for 30 miles or so. These are 2 different kinds of routines that require 2 different kinds of foods.

These 2 routines are also not that compatible with each other for your body. If you workout hard at the gym pumping iron and then do a long cardio routine, that can end up switching off the benefits of your muscle building.

One of the first things to remember when training either with weights or for endurance is not to overeat before your workout. With a cardio routine you certainly don't want to feel full when you are trying to ride your bike and you also don't want to eat carbs right before your routine. Eating carbs well before your routine will be helpful in giving you the endurance to sustain your workout.

You also have to think about after workout recovery in your training nutrition as well. Getting the right amount of carbohydrates and protein into your system right after a workout routine is essential. You will end up storing more glycogen in your muscles and be ready for your exercise routine the next day if you eat right after a workout rather than waiting 2 hours or more.

It is essential that you get both proteins and carbohydrates and proteins after a workout because proteins build the muscle and carbs fuel your muscles. Optimum muscle recovery occurs when you consume both. Correct nutrition is the key to good training to ensure that you will be at your peak whenever you compete or if you you will main your healthy lifestyle.
