And speaking of cold water, if you're swimming in Wildfit Quest Review open water in the UK, the water is typically cold enough to make a wetsuit desirable (and if the water is under 14 degrees C, British Triathlon rules require one). The bad news is that wetsuits can be expensive; not ideal if you're just starting out and have a lot of other kit and equipment to purchase. The good news is that there are many wetsuit hire companies which allow you to hire a suit at a reasonable price and will even apply the hire fee to the cost of purchase if you choose to buy the suit later. Make sure that you get the wetsuit in time to try it at least once. Wetsuits take some getting used to and fit is paramount! For cycling, a helmet is not only a potential life-saver, it's a piece of your kit that's required by triathlon rules in every race. Choosing a comfortable helmet is key- cycling is the longest stage of triathlon and since you'll be using it to race and train, you'll spend a lot of time sporting it. Try on different helmets and see what fits and feels comfortable for you. The main difference in expensive helmets and less expensive models is weight, not safety features, so if you find a very comfy helmet at a low price point, it's not necessary to spend a lot.And speaking of cold water, if you're swimming in open water in the UK, the water is typically cold enough to make a wetsuit desirable (and if the water is under 14 degrees C, British Triathlon rules require one). For the run leg, head gear is optional, but a billed cap is a good idea. For something so unassuming, a running cap does a lot to protect you from the elements, whether the day brings bright sun or heavy rain. Choose one that is breathable and comfortable.Another important consideration is keeping your feet dry and comfortable. Not every triathlete wears socks (especially sprint-distance speedsters, trying to save precious seconds on their transition times). However, if you are prone to blisters or you're going long, breathable, wicking socks are a must. Once again, absolutely NO cotton. There is a wide range of fibre contents and thicknesses on the market. I like merino wool to keep me blister-free and comfortable, but others like all-synthetic. Try out different socks in training to determine what's best for you before a race.
Marketing and the ubiquitous nature of media being what it is these days, it is a fair bet that most people recognize or even know GSP RushFit at some depth. One of the hardest parts of my job running a fitness product review site is digging beyond the glossy finish and the cars in the lot, and parceling out value v. fluff.Ostensibly RushFit is right now one of the "in things" in the fitness world. This probably has as much to do with the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) revolution highlighted by recent matches involving women combatants. GSP RushFit, TapOut XT and to a degree the gym craze CrossFit is an outgrowth of the MMA craze.Let's Talk About the specs for RushFit. It is a highly intense 8 week circuit exercise workout and can be done in 45 minutes a day. The message is you can get ripped and fit results faster because of the nature of the moves and the focus on proper intensity. Like P90X, special care was taken in the area of experience level of the trainer.
One attribute of home workouts which make them either effective or ineffective: they must have instructions which are well communicated and explained in order to do it right. Erik Owings is both a black belt and professional trainer of MMA warriors. So that is an area of strength for this program. The program takes an interesting turn in that the star of the show George St. Pierre, doesn't instruct but instead takes instruction. Fans seem to like the idea of trying to compete with him. Competition is an area I often give too little consideration, but frankly if you can find someone to work with and against, you'll see better results.
