I believe too many people go through life chasing jobs.  Uncompromised Life Review  A job is something that simply pays the bills. There is a myth that needs to be busted. Go to school, get a degree or skill and find a job. I have heard several acronyms for JOB. Just Over Broke. Jump Outta Bed. What is the difference between a JOB and WORK? Work is something you do that is rewarding. Something you truly enjoy and look forward to accomplishing. Your passion! Work leaves you with a higher sense of accomplishment and achievement. It puts a smile on your face and warms your heart. It is gratification. The challenge is to monetize your passions and avoid jobs.

Flying the F-15 was work and not a job. It was not about paying the bills. My college degree did not teach me how to be an aviator. Excelling as a fighter pilot was about optimizing every ounce of ability. Zig Ziglar said, Success is the maximum utilization of the ability that you have. I found success employing the F-15. Notice I did not say flying the F-15. Sure there was a stick and rudder component, but the true gratification was through the mission. Maybe that is why a little voice inside of me said stay away from a commercial airline career. In my view, I would have taken a step backwards by leaving work and landing a job.

The second chapter in my life led me to the corporate world. As one could imagine that has any affinity for aviation, flying the F-15 registers extremely high on the "fun meter." However, there was a void operating in an environment that was not fiscally responsible. I can remember flying hours "just to use them". I can remember spending money just to spend it due to a flawed budgeting concept of "use it or lose it" that is common in government business entities.
