About This Game

Inked is a puzzle-platformer where you play as the Nameless Hero, a ronin character drawn by a comic book artist, Adam. By using simple geometrical shapes, you’ll solve puzzles and venture through Adam’s world to find Nameless Hero’s lost love Aiko. The story goes deeper than first perceived entwining Adam and the Nameless Hero. Together they will embark on a journey that will forever change them both.

Nice artwork and art style. I wanted to love it, but there are a couple of problems that I really can't get past.

1. Player momentum-platforming
This game wants to be a platformer, but the momentum of the PC is infuriating. I had absolutely no confidence that I could put the player where I wanted to on screen. Making small movements is very difficult. Some physics decisions are difficult to understand. I walked into a bridge I had placed and instead of stepping up on top of it, the character kicked it off the ledge and then walked off the ledge to its death.

2. Interface and options
This game is obviously meant to be played with a controller, and the keyboard/mouse combination is kind of an add-on. The game uses a ring interface to select one of 6 tools, and the mouse selection is not really usable because very small movements of the mouse will change the tool selection, so it's difficult to get the tool you want with any kind of reliability.

There are few control options, so rather than being able to assign keys to each of the 6 tools, e.g., 1-6, or qazwsx or something like that. Also, the view is isometric, so walking in a primary, cardinal direction requires two keys to be held, and it would be nice if up were bound to top-right, so that only one key would be needed. If that were at least an option, I'd love it.

But! The game looks really nice, and I love the style.. This game is wonderful! If you feel like puting your brain to the test, this game is for you! Graphics are amazing: people have posted asking if they are glitches but in reality, I actually think it's part of the game. Because its set to look 'comic-ish' so therefore, the glitches occur because its their form of style. You will se why that is important if you want to play the game yourself. I highly reccommend! Music is also incredibly well done!. It could have been a great game if not for the automatic save. If you did not finish a chapter you will have to restart it every time you restart the game. Very annoying. Why there is not a manual save ?
. Inked is one of those games that go beyond being just a game and become an experience. It calls attention first of all for its aesthetic factor. The graphics refer to drawings made with the pen on paper, it is very beautiful and very well done. But what could be just an aesthetic decision becomes something fundamental to the game narrative. And it is in the narrative that this game becomes something beyond. His story begins lightly, giving us little elements and tips, but over time it turns out to be a heavy, delicate and attention-grabbing story. The subject is very delicate and is treated with a lot of respect, knowledge of the attention of the creators, they have indeed done an excellent job in all aspects. Inked is that kind of game that serves both those who like games and those who do not like video games, it's not just about playing.. I will update review as I will progress through the game but so far it's so beautiful that it hurts. Music is also very chill, and I could easily get lost in this one. :-)
