Happy New Year! At this wonderful moment, we bid farewell to 2018 and usher in the New Year of 2019. Thanks to the joint efforts of Minhang people, Minhang District has made stable and sound socioeconomic development in 2018, and people’s livelihood improved a lot. This year, the first China International Import Expo opened successfully in Shanghai. We improved our road traffic conditions, urban appearance and environmental landscaping. Water quality of small and medium-sized rivers also improved a lot. Black and odorous rivers are rarely seen. Air quality also improved. Blue sky and white clouds are more frequently to be seen. This year, Minhang people have more places to go shopping. We enhanced the overall quality of education, shortened the time of waiting for patients in hospitals and offered high-quality caring service to more aged people. This year, people have more sense of gain and happiness. We get closer to our goals: To build Minhang into an ecological, livable modern district with excellent quality.
In 2019, we will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. This is also a year crucial for building a moderately well-off society in an all-round way and carrying out the “Thirteenth Five-year Plan”. We will continue to follow our keynote for working that makes progress while maintaining stability, always grasp the requirements of high-quality development and strive to create higher quality of life for our people. We will make more efforts on garbage disposal, improving environment of rivers and constructing green corridors. We will focus on issues concerning people’s livelihood, including removal and relocation of residents, renovation of old residential areas, community service for the aged, education and medical service, culture and sports, and urban public safety, and ensure everyone lead a happier life. Undoubtedly, the construction and development of Minhang is inseparable from the people’s efforts. We hope everyone to actively participate in the process of construction and build the district into a pleasant homeland for everyone.
It is hard work that makes one’s dream come true. We should more closely rally around the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core. With the courage of making innovation, the vigor of daring to be the first and thriving and robust vitality, we will spare no efforts to fulfill tasks concerning the socioeconomic development of Minhang District under the steady leadership of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, the Shanghai Municipal Government and the Minhang District Party Committee, and celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China with outstanding achievements.
