I'm only playing the game for the campaign, and so far i like it! The campaign offers a nice step up tutorial along the way for the RPG aspect as well as RTS aspect. The difficulty can be challenging at times (make sure to save the game each 30mins or so, to give you some safe point to go back to if you mess up).. Overall a very good expansion. A few quest ending bug, but nothing game breaking. As usual great storytelling and graphics, sound etc. What still is lacking is a good RTS. If this was a straight up RPG this game would be even better.. amazing game for all RTS fanatics. WIP review. More of the same Spellforce goodness from THQ Nordic/Grimlore. Spellforce is the best in genre when it comes to the RTS/RPG mashup. Based devs gave a good interview on 8ch too.. 15 dollars, are you kidding me? As you enter the game, you are introduced to a beatiful soundtrack. Then you continue and understand they improved on many things. Can someone from THQ do a proper marketing campaign for this title? It's so sad that this game is not listed among the best modern cRPGs, because it's simply of high, high quality.. So much improvement from the last game. I am extremely happy now.. After finishing the main SpellForce 3 campaign earlier in the month, I was SUPER stoked to hear that this expansion was coming out. After playing for a few hours, I can say that this is continuing on with the fun factor and the amazing lore/story line. The new UI takes a little bit to get used too, but once you figure it out it's a breeze.. I have played the first Spellforce 3 when it first came out, enjoying every aspect of it, despite the bugs, when I first heard that they would be revamping both the gameplay and the factions themselves, I waited with cautious optimism, partly worried that it might kill the game for me. However, I was glad to see that there was no need, the game is an improvement in nearly every way over the first Spellforce 3 - Faction revamps, making them more unique and giving them each a specific playstyle. - The new factions, with the Dark Elves being a new favourite. - The Gameplay revamp, with the resource system being streamlined. - The new story from what I have played so far, does not disappoint. - The Mercenaries Mechanic, allowing you to create a custom character of 3 races and any class combo you wish (hopefully they will add the Morhir Elves and Orcs as races), with great potential to be used in the future.
