Considering that we spend more time in our workplace or business Brain C-13 Review  than any other single activity, an ADHD personality should choose a career in which s/he can put heart and soul into. A work that is stimulating with the minimum of tasks that the attention deficit personality struggles with, gives energy and induces creativity.

This might sound radical. But in the long-term these decisions, using our individual combination of ADHD signs and symptoms as clues in which direction to go, will lead to a life where the gifts and strengths of our attention deficit hyper focusing character can be a joy. OCD can be debilitating on many levels. The one we will discuss here is the difficulty that people with OCD experience in making decisions. With OCD, there is a constant mind battle. Is this good enough? Did I seal that envelope I have just posted? Shall I re write the letter again because the tone isn't right? Is the door locked? etc.

OCD couples these constant feelings of doubt and insecurity with the inability to decide on the simplest of things. OCD for me has meant that a decision that most folk would take in less than five minutes has yielded hours or days of worry and indecisiveness. The fact that you know that your decision should have been made two days ago simply adds to the OCD mind torment.

A lot of people get the wrong idea about OCD and may read this and think 'indecision is a medical problem now?' Or 'Just get someone else to decide,' or some such remark. The problem with OCD and decision making however is that it is not just a passing negative emotion that gets resolved in a fairly timely fashion. It creates enough unsettlement in the mind that forces the sufferer to act upon the unsettlement, often wasting even more time carrying out an act or ritual.
