The pain can take many forms, but one of the most common areas to suffer from joint pain is in your knees. This is due to the fact that when engaging in exercise the knee joints take a lot of strain when you a moving around. The pressure induced on the knees when running or jogging is even higher. Over time the muscles around the joint will weaken and thus cause the pain.

A simple way to attempt to combat joint pain is to strengthen the muscles around the joint, in particular the quadriceps or the quads as they are also known. This can be done in the comfort of your own home by seating yourself and attaching relatively light weights to your ankles, approximately 10 pounds. Once in this position raise your feet from the ground so your legs are in a straight position and then lower them to the ground. Repeat this action 10 times and carry out 3 sets at a time. If you do this everyday this will considerably strengthen the muscles around the knee joint and help to prevent any further pain.
