Many people today are not aware that it is even possible to develop a fatty liver, but this is a condition many Americans have to deal with today. Most of the time this excess fat around the liver does not cause you any harm but there are occasions where more serious conditions can occur like cirrhosis of the liver and this is when you need to consult your doctor for more professional action. Some of the people who are at a higher risk of experiencing liver fat are those who consume large amounts of alcohol, anyone with diabetes or who are obese. If you fall into one of these categories than it is important to have your doctor check your liver for underlying conditions before choosing physical fitness and nutrition to solve your problems.

Right now there are still no medical explanations for what exactly causes liver fat, but there are natural ways you can utilize to help reduce this fatty build up. The first step is to focus on your diet. Limiting and even eliminating your alcohol consumption as well as foods that are processed or contain high amounts of sugar. These are the foods and beverages that take a healthy liver and produce the fatty build up that we are now trying to eliminate. Focusing on fresh fruits and vegetables as well as cutting back on your daily calorie intake is a great way to eliminating this fat and creating a healthier overall body.

You should focus on losing only 1-2lbs per week, losing weight any faster than this can only put further stress on your body and not be beneficial at all. Drinking lots of water throughout the day, 6-8 glasses are a great way to cleanse your body of the toxins that may be inhibiting this form of weight loss. Lastly, cardio exercise is a great way to help lose liver fat from the outside in. You can choose to job, bike, kayak, and walk or even swimming are great options to get your body working in ways that it is not used to, working unused muscles.
