So how does this work Imagine applying this concept to doing pull ups. Lets say for the sake of argument that you can only do about 5 pull ups at once before reaching failure. Ladder training is a great way to get your pull up numbers up and build you some lean muscle mass fast.
To begin, you can structure applying this concept to doing pull ups with either a partner or by yourself. Begin by performing a single pull up and then drop down and let your partner perform a single pull up. As soon as your partner is finished you jump back up on the bar and do 2 pull ups, drop back down and allow your partner to do 2. The next progression will be 3 and then 4 and so on until you reach a ceiling of failure as you keep climbing the ladder. You see how this works, right Once you reach your ceiling then rest a bit and start the process over again.
With this current example you may start by completing the following progression, 1,2,3 and then 1,2. This basically gets you to 9 reps! Your volume has been increased and eventually your ceiling will get higher and higher with the ladder the more you practice. This is a sure way for you to build muscle fast and get your body ready for summer.
