A group of humans arrive on Sirius 6-B to investigate an SOS signal sent out from the planet, which has been supposedly deserted since the destruction of the man-made weapons known as "screamers." Once the squad arrives, they find a group of human survivors eking out an existence in an old military outpost, but more important, they discover that the threat of the screamers has become even more insidious, now that they're able to morph into human form.
After two months in cryogenic sleep, a rescue mission composed of seven crew members arrive in Sirius 6B to investigate an SOS distress signal sent from the planet. Sirius 6B was assumed uninhabited after the annihilation of humans by the weapons screamers created by the scientist Orsow. On the arrival, the team led by Captain Andy Sexton is informed that in seven days, the planet will be blown by a severe storm that will destroy any survivor and they need to leave the planet before the event. Soon they meet humans in a military outpost that battle against them and the team spends the night in a facility. They find hundreds of deactivated screamers and during the night, Sexton sneaks out and charges one screamer to download its hard disk with all the information about the lethal weapon. On the next morning, they return to their spaceship Medusa and learn that s screamer has killed the watcher Soderquist and stolen the battery cells. Now they must contact the hostile survivors the get any battery cell that might be available in the planet. When they succeed in contacting the survivors, they learn that the screamers have evolved to a state-of-art generation with human form.
I admit that I couldn't watch the entire movie, so I don't know how it ends, I hope that all the screamers will be wiped out and it won't be any sequel to this one. It was so boring that even my daughter (a seven months old baby) started yawning. The story is simple, a bunch of teenage soldiers go on a rescue mission on the same planet where the action took place in the first movie, looking for survivors and trying to find out how everything started. There's no action what so ever, and believe me the first one had much cooler special effects than this one; By the way the original scream of the SCREAMERS was terrifying, in this movie the robots sound like they're already damaged; and the opening scene with those two killing units bouncing off a metal door like some deflated tennis balls ... just doesn't add up. My vote is 3 because ....they tried......... and because the first SCREAMERS was so good that I've started remembering all the scenes. for those who still enjoyed it .... what can I say,, GOOD JOB
I'm writing this in advance; I was almost talked out of seeing this flick due to the poor rating; however, the first Screamers had a poor rating as well.

Without seeing this, I came to the conclusion we need to create a new genre: "Sequels to obscure movies." Of course it won't be as good as the first, for some reason I only remember the good sequels. Second, Screamers, the original, is an acquired taste and brings something new to the Sci-Fi genre, the idea war fatigues people and sometimes it is hard to see a way out, then the twist of robots which kill, for a reason: food. This introduces the idea of sentient life adapting to survive, cool for an angry subterranean blade.

I like the Terminator movies for what they are, with the exception of the third, but why do they kill people again? The first title worked with a poorly developed short story, low budget, and was not received well; however, the script was good and the idea they played with inspired thought, not much, but something different. Peter Weller, without a doubt, made the first flick. I am hoping another actor, or some idea in the sequel makes this a good flick for what it is. A sequel to an obscure movie.

Preemptively, it gets a three as an adjustment for what will undoubtedly be a bad movie, in terms of movies. But in terms of sequels, +1, +1 for being straight to DVD (definite difference in quality), +1 for being a sequel to an obscure flick. No one has addressed my main concern, does it expand on the first movie in a way that honors the first or not?

After: After seeing the flick, it was alright. The only saving grace was the cinematography; other comments about the plot, lack of development, and basic cheated feeling are correct. If you feel compelled to see it, check what else is on first.
