Compact versions of Linjer's minimal watches now available

Dezeen Watch Store has launched new timepieces by Norwegian brand Linjer in a wider range of colour combinations and a smaller 34-millimetre case size.

The new arrivals feature a 34-millimetre case and skinny strap made from vegetable-tanned Italian leather, which is produced in family-run tanneries in Italy.
The straps come in navy, tan or black. They are designed to be easy to mix and match, and improve with age.

The Classic and Minimalist watches feature a clean white dial with numberless indices and a date window. A variety of new colour combinations are available for each style.

The Classic now comes with a brushed silver stainless-steel case and black strap, rose-gold case and tan strap or rose-gold case and navy strap. It features a small inner dial for second markings, while hour markings sit on a bevelled edge.The Minimalist style is available with a silver case and navy strap, gunmetal case and tan strap or rose-gold case and tan strap. The brand claims its smooth dial is inspired by the Carrara marble rooftop of the Snøhetta-designed Oslo Opera House.

The watches carry a Swiss Ronda movement and have a sapphire crystal coating.

The name "Linjer" means "lines" in Norwegian, and is a reference to the brand's minimalist aesthetic and Scandinavian roots. Jennifer Chong and her partner Roman Khan launched Linjer in 2014 following a successful Kickstarter campaign for their leather bags.The brand then diversified into watches but kept the Italian-made leather they have become known for. A second Kickstarter campaign for the watches managed to raise $1 million in 2015.

Linjer aims to provide a gap in the market for high-quality leather goods for a mid-range price, with an emphasis on minimalist design and natural materials.
