Broomfield sex-toy distributor executives charged with selling illegal erectile enhancement drugs

Two executives of a Broomfield sex-toy distribution company face federal misdemeanor charges for distributing illegal erectile enhancement drugs that had a potency 14 times more than the average Cialis dose, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Central California.sex toy

Jon Vogt, 58, the director of purchasing for Eldorado Trading Company, and Dennis Jones, 65, the company’s senior buyer, were implicated in a multi-million dollar scheme that includes three companies and three executives in other states, according to the news release. The two have admitted to their participation in a plea agreement.

Once they enter their guilty pleas, Vogt, Jones and the others who have been charged each will face a statutory maximum sentence of one year in federal prison. The three corporate entities, including Eldorado, will face up to five years of probation, as well as monetary sanctions of up to $200,000 in fines or twice the gross gain resulting from the criminal offenses, the news release said.

Vogt and Jones allegedly distributed fraudulent sexual enhancement pills through Eldorado, which markets itself as an award-winning distributor of adult toys and an “unrivaled pleasure products powerhouse.” The company originally sold Native American jewelry before transitioning to sex products, its websites states.

Prosecutors said John Seil Lee, of Walnut, Calif., smuggled a powder from China called tadalafil — the generic prescription drug used to treat erectile dysfunction and sold under the Cialis brand. He then manufactured the powder into pills that he sold to distributors like Eldorado across the country, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.In order to pump up his sales, prosecutors said Lee made the pills with up to 14 times the level of tadalafil contained in a Cialis dose. He branded the pills as “male herbal remedies” with names such “X Again,” “X Monster” and “Royal Master.” But Lee falsely stated that no prescription was necessary to use the drug and did not disclose the presence of tadalafil in the pills, the news release said.

Cialis is only prescribed under medical supervision because it carries some harmful side effects, including drops in blood pressure, loss of vision, loss of hearing and prolonged, painful erections, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
