The second option is to consume more complex carbohydrates again to avoid large spikes in blood sugar. the third option is to eat regularly and not skip meals. If you skip meals and don´t for 5-6 hours then your blood sugar goes down making you crave for food. When you do finally eat carbohydrates then blood sugar goes back up causing the release of too much insulin. The forth option is to eat carbohydrates with proteins to slow down the speed of which glucose will be released into the body.

When you eat carbs your body breaks them down into glucose. This glucose is then transported to the cells that reqyure energy via your bloodstream. Although your body can use fats and proteins for energy this process is very inefficient.
