crashed on my system with fatal errors. may work for you.. Experience not on VR. (for now) The game is slowely paced at first, perhaps maybe little bit to slow as interactions are scarece. It picks up later on a bit. I got to it after playing Firewatch and willing to try another story based title. Story driven, with nice enviroments. What annoys me the most is that game actually introduces interesting game mechanics and then refuses to use it for more interesting gameplay. Shame. I suspect that the pacing and the movement speeds are made to accomodate the VR experience. This game is in a nutshell: Half-Life (sadlly the opening sequence) Firewatch (complexity of the game mechanics) Portal (the setting and environments) Any FPS (the puzzles) Positives: *Looks great *Interesting game mechanics (increase/decrease your size, gravity defying platforms) *Alice in Wonderland inspired *Interesting narration Negatives: -It can be slow, without giving you many interrations -Simplistic puzzles - aimed at younger audience I guess -Not everyone is fan of Alice (dream alike sequences) -Under-utilised puzzles and shrinking mechanics. Conclusion: I'd like to see the game through the VR some of the changes in the environments would look impressive (collapsing structures, changes in perspective). I'm not sure if it would give me any motion issues or not, but it it one of the better looking games so far and immersion must be great. It's good to see a finished product rather than something that looks like a simple 5 min tech demo. Alice VR introduces few nice concepts but fails to play with it through out the experience. Levels are big in size but not terribly interactive. A lot of work was put into how the level should look, but then you will end up with 3 buttons to press and a simple puzzle to solve to get to the next stage.. Store page outright lies about supporting oculus and motion controllers. Pressing any button on oculus Touch results in a crash. It's sad to see such misinformation.. It scratched my Solus itch. At least for the 4.2 hours it took to finish. Story was good, graphics were nice, everything ran smooth (asych on). Good stuff. Growing and shriking in vr was pretty neat.. I recently took advantage of Greenmangaming's sale over the weekend, and bought 6 games. One of these, unfortunately, was Alice VR. Apparently this game does not support touch controls. There are at least 6 ways to launch this game, with the majority of them being different ways to play on Oculus. With every method of launching the game, it crashes when you push any button on the touch controllers. I would just use an Xbox controller, but the Marvel bundle of the Rift doesn't include a controller adapter, and I'm trying not to shill out the money for one right now. Steam can't refund because it was bought through GMG, and GMG doesn't do refunds. At least I bought it on sale? Edit: I beat the game, and boy oh boy it is not fun. Walking simulator, barely any story or decision, and literally the only time I've closed my eyes because the game made me sick. Avoid.. NOTE ***OCULUS TOUCH CONTROLLERS ARE NOT SUPPORTED*** I haven't been able to play this on my Oculus Rift so this review isnt about gameplay.its about incompatibility with Oculus Rift and Oculus Motion Tracking. I can see why some have felt the reference to 'Tracked Motion Controller' being supported on the store page is misleading Even tho the store page shows 'Track Motion Controllers' as supported i'm now guessing/realising this relates to Vive and NOT Oculus Touch Conrollers. :( Bought this on sale and was really looking forward to playing it. but. It repeatedly crashed on the start screen whenever you press a controller button to 'Start'. Looked on fourms and it looks as tho its an issue with 'Touch' that the Dev doesn't intend to resolve (if what I read is correct). I cant even imaging how immersive it would be without Touch so its an uninstall and refund request for me. No i'm not angry. just disappointed.. This game allegedly looks great on a monitor, but even with a GTX 980ti it looks fairly poor in VR, playing it on a HTC Vive and everything further than 3m away appears blurred making even the largish size font of signs hard to read until you're close. Additionaly, the blurring and pixelation of the graphics, combined with the 'gliding' motion and the continuous need for turning around, gave me an unpleasant dizzy feeling that meant I couldn't play for more than around 20-25 minutes at a time before having to take the Vive off and sit down for a while. As I was only able to make it just past the first driving segment, I feel I can't comment on the overall gameplay, but from the sections I have seen; Alice moves extremely slowly (possibly intentional to reduce VR sickness?) and I can only hope that the later 'puzzles' are more interesting because those that I've seen so far are laughably simple. TL;DR Solved 3 'puzzles' without realizing, got too dizzy, had to go lie down for an hour.. A beautiful game that utilizes teleportation and free movement. Some vehicle driving which did get me a little motion sick. Interesting use of perspectives and game mechanics. I purchased this game because I had just finished Solus Project and was looking for a similar game. For some reason this game didn't hook me as Solus Project did. Genres slightly different which may have been the cause (SP is walking sim, narative story, and survival while Alice is more walking sim, narative story, puzzler) Completed the game which is a plus for my review but in the end I'm recommending to wait for a sale and consider before buying.. Alice VR is a good game for anyone who wants a relaxing but immersive experience. It allows you to really step into the game world and feel the significance of your actions, but it doesn't really challenge you unless you have very low tolerance for motion sickness - and the publishers' open response to feedback gives hope that anyone will be able to enjoy this game on VR.. DO NOT BUY The game looks great on the store page but the load times are crazy long to the point where u think your PC has Frozen and the game looks like it's running off intergrated graphics it's terrible, I also have a more than capable PC for vr so this shouldn't be happening, I'll be leaving this review up until the devs contact me or I'll just get a refund

The game's world is inspired by "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" so everyone there is. a little peculiar. And so we are very proud to announce that over 20 characters were recorded by Sound Cadence Studios, and the AI, which will lead you from the game, is played by Julie Shields and was recorded by the wonderful guys at Eon Sounds. Also, if you're not a native English speaker, please remember that Russian, German, French, Spanish and Polish subtitles (and Polish voices!) will also be available in game!
