Once we take in our post workout drink or meal we cause our growth hormone levels to go down. So if your ultimate goal is fat loss you may want to stretch out the time between the end of your workout and when you have your post workout shake/meal. I am not recommending to not take a post workout shake all together, you will want this to help aid in the recovery process, but the longer we can get away with letting our bodies naturally release growth hormone, the better for burning fat.
