How annoying are they when you are trying to lose weight? They are the first group - the ectomorph - nature's naturally skinny body type. Next, and at the opposite end of the scale, we have the endomorph - the naturally fat body type. These are the people who will tell you they only have to look at a bar of chocolate and they put on weight. While that may be an exaggeration, it is true that they could eat half of what the ectomorph does and still put on weight. The endomorph has a slow metabolism, is see themselves as being naturally "big boned". Because of their slower metabolsism they gain weight more easily than the other types. The good news for them though is that they find it easy to build muscle and strength.
And last, but by no means least we have the mesomorph - nature has been very kind to this body type. Mesomorphs are typically athletes of some kind and certainly have the physique of one. Being a mesomorph means having all the advantage of the other types, with none of the disadvantages. So, they can gain muscle as well as an endomorph, but can lose fat like an ectomorph.
Although it sounds as if endomorphs and ectomorphs have gotten a bad deal, they can both still achieve the body they want by adjusting their diet and exercise regime to fit. That means that the endomorph can achieve permanent weight loss and the ectomorph can gain weight and build muscle.
