Zombies rise again at the dawn of Apocalypse! In this companion to the smash-hit Zombie Exodus, can you survive the first few days of the zombie outbreak as the dead rise, society collapses, and the living struggle to survive?

Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven is a series of thrilling interactive survival-horror novels by Jim Dattilo, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based—without animation or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

Customize a character using a variety of professions, backgrounds, special challenges, and skills to survive in a brutal and chaotic city as the Zeta virus spreads. Will you be an honorable soldier, searching through neighborhoods to aid survivors? Or will you be a ruthless bandit who loots and robs others for needed supplies? How about a paranoid hacker, psychopathic con artist, pragmatic scientist, or idealistic teenager? Dozens of options allow you to play the character of your choice.

Set in the Zombie Exodus world, the first part of Safe Haven focuses on the first few days of a viral outbreak which changes the infected into mindless zombies. Explore the changes to society at the start of the pandemic. Board your house, gather supplies, meet over a dozen other characters, and survive encounters with the living dead and even other survivors. Scavenge numerous locations, craft items, and use a variety of skills to survive the many challenges of the apocalypse.

Part Two: Out Now!

With three brand new chapters and another 310,000 words, "Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven" is now more than than 900,000 in total! That's more than 72,000 each time you play. Given the number of paths from beginning to end, you can have a unique story every time and still never see all there is in "Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven!"

The Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven series will continue with future stories in new locations in the coming years.

Play as male or female, gay, straight, bi, or asexual.
Nineteen backgrounds/professions including Soldier, Teenager, Professional Wrestler, Bank Robber, and Doctor. Or create your own custom class.
Choose your skill levels in eighteen different apocalyptic skills such as Stealth, Ranged Weapons, Scavenging, and Survival. Level up your skills after each chapter and choose from hobbies to round out your character.
Select optional challenges for your survivor. Take care of a dependent child or a pet, or deal with a phobia, compulsion, addiction, or affliction.
Meet other survivors each with their own personalities, motivations, desires, and flaws. Even form romantic relationships with those you meet.

Fantastic Game. I recommend this game for people who have played and loved Zombie Exodus. Yet it saddened me when I found out this game was unfinished. The beginning of this game is amazing. I just hope they don't ask for a lot of money for part II if they ask for any money at all. Otherwise this game is as good as Zombie Exodus.. Just like Zombie Exodus, the author Jim Dattilo creates a very horrifying image of what our world could become if such a virus outbreak ever happened. While it seems impossible, this is great fiction and writing that gives you control and choices that determine your fate.

If you love tv shows like "The Walking Dead", then you owe yourself this choose-your-own-adventure style adventure. You'll get opportunities to make some of those hard decisions you've seen the stars of the zombie tv shows and movies make and discover the outcomes.

With so many choices, this text adventure offers fantastic value. Highly recommended!

Remember, no game.. no matter how good the graphics can ever be better then what you can imagine. We should all be much more grateful and thankful to fantastic authors like Jim Dattilo for helping us imagine worlds like he creates for us in both this text adventure and in his previous "Zombie Exodus".

You deserve all your success multiplied by the number of zombies you helped me to imagine while I read this, and should I ever see you in a real zombie apocolypse surrounded by the dead.. I will now most definitely save you! ;-). Very immersive and detailed. Fine writing and fine gameplay. Recommended.. I've barely even started Part 2, but i want to say a few things before i write the full review
1. in my opinion, if you are going to make the player pay for an additional part(s) make part 1 free (note: i have no idea how marketing or whatever works, so maybe they had a 100% amazing reason to do it the way they did)
2. i don't like reading but i still bought this game and have enjoyed (from what i've played even though i skip most of the text)
3. (i don't think) you NEED to play Zombie Exodus to understand the story/lore of ZE:SH
4. no DLC is REQUIRED to beat the game (execpt for part 2 of course) it just makes the game easier
5. the rest of this review is incomplete. WASTE OF MONEY!!!

They story is good, but way to short!!! You also pay way too much for what is an unfinished story!!
The author has begun to only care about the money relasing the story in multiple segements rather than 1 complete story...
