About This Game

World-famous red-haired adventurer Adol Christin awakens in the unfamiliar land of Celceta, remembering nothing more than his own name. Bereft of his past, Adol explores the town he happened to wander into, searching for any clues at all to his identity. Joined by a thief who claims to have spent some time at his side these past weeks, the young adventurer helps rescue doomed miners from a collapse – an act which ingratiates him to the local Romun Army general. Impressed with their skills, the pair is enlisted to explore the Great Forest of Celceta and map its vast expanses – a task which many have attempted in the past, but from which none have ever returned alive.

Eager to unravel the mystery of his past and the cause of his predicament, Adol sets off with his new-old thief friend, Duren, to chart the untamed wilderness that claimed his memories. Along the way he meets numerous other individuals who seem to have encountered him before, and must carefully determine who among them can be trusted.

Developer Nihon Falcom originally revisited the land and characters of Japanese cult favorite Ys IV in 2012 with Ys: Memories of Celceta on the PlayStation Vita, and the game found its way to North America the following year. Now, this re-envisioning moves from the small screen to PC monitors, with a bevy of updates and enhancements to fully take advantage of its new platform.

Featuring a unique take on the party-based combat system that’s come to define modern Ys titles, as well as one of the largest and most varied overworlds in the series’ long and illustrious history, Ys: Memories of Celceta brings a greater sense of adventure to the Ys universe than ever before, with this PC iteration serving as the definitive version of one of the franchise’s most pivotal entries.

Same good YS formula. Put 11 hours in on the first day of purchase. Only issue I had so far are FPS drops every so often, but other than that the game is amazing.. Didn't like the controls.

. Falcom + Xseed + AmnYsic Adol. It's YS. Which is a good thing. Thank you, Xseed for giving us this game on time with GOOD PRICE! Unlike *OTHER* company.

Anyway.

Put some Power Metal Fantasy Music, and play on Nightmare Mode.

- Simple gameplay, though I need to get used the basic longer than Origin
- Unique boss battle, but the difficulty diluted by the mechanic
- Anywhere save, and A DUNGEON MAP (!!!!,♥♥♥♥♥you darm tower, mine dungeon, solomon shrine )
- QoL Teleport

- Too easy. No cooldown and casting time item meaning you can breeze through all of the boss, even the supposed hardest ( secret ) one as long your level is not too far behind and well prepared your stock. You can brute force ALL of the boss. All battle turned into buttonmashing pretty fast
- Equipment enchanment like freeze completely destroy all the mobs that is not immune to it, regen/life steal made the first point even ( much ) easier.
- Some scene is pretty stupid and/or redundant ( especially the villain ), somewhat cringy dialog

Overall i somewhat dissapointed because the battle challenge in celceta turned out to be the joke compared to my other 2 previous game. Maybe this kind of YS battle system is not my cup of tea. Still reccomended ( barely ) though. Need more character interaction between the main party.
Onward to oath of felghana.. Another masterpiece from Falcom and another brilliant port by XSEED. Need I say more? :). Really great pc port with a very great graphic and also the HDR effects looks very good. It runs smoothly with >60fps on full details in Full HD and a GTX 980. The combat runs smooth and is simple and easy to learn. I played actually during the first two booses so far, the story is very interesting and keeps me excited (Can't wait to explore the next dungeon!). Really one of my favourite Ys games besides Ys Seven and Ys VIII.
