About This Game

Wild Guns Reloaded is a fast-paced arcade-style shooter, mixing the Wild West with steampunk. Play as Clint, Annie, Doris, or Bullet the dog with his sentry drone. Grab some friends and play together for some four player action! Each character can jump, dive, and roll to get out of the way of the barrage of bullets enemies let fly – or shoot them down with their own gun!

A really fun well made remaster/remake of the original wild guns. This is what remakes should be, refreshing a game for newer systems while still maintaining the style of what made the older game great.While it is a remake the game still introduces 2 new characters to play that play very different from the main 2 cast, while also having 2 entirely new levels not in the original Snes game.

Now i personally hadn't played wild guns before this i had only seen videos so as a sorta new player it took me a couple hours of tries to beat the game on normal with the continue system as it is a pretty hard game. Another few play throughs of trying to beat it without continues, so a full run takes about 25 or so minutes, so it is a short game.

So if you only want to beat it once $20 ($15 on launch discount) might be too much for the amount playtime you can get out of the game unless you want to go through the other difficulties and try them with all the different characters. Personally i want to see more console games like this to come to PC so i think it's worth it for some form of entertainment.

Edit: I went and played through the super nintendo version just now to maintain accuracy in what i said now so i dont contradict some information i wrote. In comparison to the snes version this version plays much more smoothly and the wider field of view which makes it feel less constricted than the original, it also has a much higher resolution makes it more superior to the older version.. A Legendary title making a comeback from the super nintendo glory days, properly ported not emulated thank goodness.
Highly recommend it to anyone seeking a challenge or is looking for a nice chunky bite of gaming fun.
Hopefully other developers will bring some classics back in a manner NatsumeAtari has done!. Very well done remastering of the original cult classic.

Faithful at the core - but full of many nice newly enhanced touch ups.

Features great looking HD sprites with touched up animations for the original characters and some of the enemies/bosses. A newly enhanced and remixed soundtrack - along with the option to select the original sound.

Two brand new characters with their own unique mechanics. One allows for movement while locked on to enemies, the other chucks dynamite sticks and can lasso multiple enemies. Newly added stages, including new bosses that fit well with the original theme of the game.

Unlike the original you can now continue from a stage select screen instead of the old way. Which forced one back to the first stage when running out of continues. Which is obviously a nice change to have implented.

It honestly conjures up what you would have imagined Wild Guns could have been like had it been released in the arcade of it's era.

I believe this was orginally released on PS4 back in 2016. This port is pretty much the exact type of treatment that you'd want to see given to a classic title like Wild Guns. It certainly feels like the definitive version to own.

Very fun and challenging even on easy and normal. As someone who was very fond of the original game. I'd well recommend this to the classic hardcore fans and new comers alike. Solid job done by Natsume-Atari.. There are some serious flaws with this game although it can be fun:
1) Multiplayer is unplayable in that you share lives and there are no continues.
2) This game should save your progress given how I struggled to beat the 1st level even on easy and have difficulty with the 2nd one (level select). I don't want to turn off the game and then have to redo the first level.
3) Continues should let you start at the last segment of the level rather than redo the entire level.
4) Refill my bombs after I finish the level. If even easy mode had these things, I'd recommend it so easily, pun intended.
5) Perhaps allow a mouse option for aiming/shooting and keys to move. With this on Steam, that would've been an ideal control setup so I can move my cursor to aim while dodging bullets, and then return fire.

With that out of the way, I enjoyed playing this shooting gallery and it's a nice, modern day challenge that makes even getting to a certain part of the level the first time on any difficulty level an accomplishment.

I like how the characters are, Clint/Annie are your balanced characters, Bullet is a dog/robot that lets you lock on and have agility, and Doris is your big demolitions woman, who is slow but her lightning attack can stop bullets and drop down faster. She uses charge type grenades but can't use the weapons the others have, though sometimes there's an auto charge upgrade. The fact Doris' lightning attacks makes her queen of close combat and has a beautiful character plus-size model is pretty rare.

You can also paralyze enemies by rapidly tapping to fire but it's difficult to use when you are barraged and need to dodge (thankfully you can roll to cancel out of your shooting animation, and bombs help you be invincible for a few frames), so I'd only recommend it vs elusive enemies. My recommendation just became stronger in that you can stun bosses with this while you are in the invincible frames of using your bomb. Made this recommendation so much stronger as learning this showed I improved greatly in the game and am beating levels.

The game also wows me with whatever arrives next and really tests my reflexes. All in all, try it out on sale and have realistic expectations unless you really like difficult games or need good multiplayer. I do recommend it for the character diversity.. Bought this awhile back & recently gifted a copy to my best friend for his birthday. Holds up well to the original SNES release

There are some things I didn’t like however. First comes the shared lives in multiplayer. Seriously, why do we have this? You basically make the ones terrible at the game eat up the lives you’ll need later on. The original SNES release had each player with their own lives! Second, locking what stages you play based on the amount of players. In order to play the original stages from the SNES you must play easy mode either alone or automatically in 2 players. Playing 3 players changes one of the stages for a brand new one & locks the difficulty to normal. Finally, 4 players changes yet another stage out for the second new stage & locks it into hard difficulty

Despite the changes to this updated port this change is still amazing & worth $20 compared to paying almost $200+ for the SNES cart. I don't know how this game actually got a remaster considering how niche its genre is, only that it deserves it. Back on the SNES it was the best gallery shooter ever made, and somehow they made it even better. New levels, new characters with new play styles, better graphics and sound; it's a fantastic update to an excellent little gem. The one mark off is that it's only local multiplayer, but by all means, if you've got the setup for that, get this game.

Also it's the absolute best cowboy game because you can lasso giant robot tanks and explode everything ever. A worthy remake of SNES gem. Hard as nails arcade action, but really rewarding once you get the hang of it. Highly recommend getting one or more friend(s) to play coop with!
