Getting mentally fit is a big part of higher level play. Y.E. Yang was able  Subliminal Guru Review  to stay in the moment and not get distracted by worrying about winning or losing. He just played. It seemed that Tiger Woods was the one more distracted that day. He still came in second. Performing in the moment is important for any high level play. The best samurai would stay in the moment when practicing his swordplay against an opponent. Afterwards, he would go over what happened and recreate mentally.

Combining both the physical and mental components is important for raising your game. Continually using the mental aspect of staying in the moment as you perform and visualizing what you are doing next after the performance is a key to success. In the martial arts, traditional practitioners use kata when practicing fighting moves. This is a combination of physical and mental approaches to learning the arts. You can do the same in your arena.

In business, we are taught to use the *SWOT analysis to find out where we are at, if something is working or not, and to make necessary corrections to reach an objective. It's a sort of a plan-do-review management tool. In raising your game, plan it; take action on the plan, and review to see if you can do it better next time. If we were to reflect back on our life, we would find many instances where we failed and where we quit. Yet there is a big distinction between the two. When we fail, we always have the choice to try again. When we quit, we choose not to try and maybe fail again. Failure can be a temporary delay to success, but quitting guarantees you'll never succeed.

It doesn't matter if you're trying to lose weight, start a business, or stop drinking, the vast majority fail, try again, and eventually quit. You may think your situations are unique to you, but the reality is everyone fails and quits many times in their lives. Failure can be a devastating blow to our self esteem and most often we rationalize our cause of failure to be something external other than ourselves. No one wants to admit failing so it's easier to blame extenuating circumstances. It's the government, my boss, or the economy that caused me to fail. But if we dig deeper I think we'll find that we don't like others to see us as a failure.
