Unblock Websites in Smart Ways
The government of different nations is restricting many websites daily. It is always annoying to be unable to access geo-blocked websites. When we think about internet censorship or restriction, we may think of North Korea or China where the governments have restricted the internet, but the truth is that our governments are also making it worse for us.
So, what’s the solution to all of this? Getting over these restrictions is not a big deal. There are numerous ways through which we can get access to all the websites blocked by our governments. Let’s have a look at these methods and get rid of all the limitations.
Using a VPN service
With no doubt, VPN is the most effective and efficient way to get rid of all the restrictions put by the government. They are widely used to hide your identity, and at the same time, they allow you to visit all geo-block websites.
VPN allows you to connect to the internet through a server that is located in any other country. When you establish a connection with that server, your IP address changes and once your IP address is changed according to the connected server, it will automatically change your online location, and as a result, you pass over all the restrictions and enjoy your freedom.
Many VPN service providers are out there who provide the best VPN services with high speed and secured connection.
VPNs are not limited to unblock your websites, but they are beneficial when you want your online identity to be hidden. They make your connection more secure, and as a result, you are less prone to be attacked by a hacker. You should always look for the best VPN service providers because some of the worst VPN services can also set you at risk.
Visit IP address instead of URL
It could be possible that your ISP (internet service provider) had just blocked the URL of the website, but you may still access it by using the IP address assigned to that website.
URL is the address to the website page in the form of text or numbers included with an HTTP or HTTPS protocol; for example, https://google.com is the URL address of google.
Now in case, you have no access to google.com because of your ISP. Then you can go to and enter the IP address in place of URL and press enter. The IP address to google is 173.194.223.99.
The method is simple and straightforward; first, you have to find the IP address, and then you have to access it by putting it in place of URL. For finding the IP address, you can use any WHOIS tool by searching the “Whois lookup” keyword on google.
Once we have got the IP address, now we can test it by entering it in our URL. If it works then great, otherwise your ISP may have blocked IP addresses as well. In that case, you can use any other method.
Using your mobile-data
If you are using your school Wi-Fi or any public Wi-Fi, then some websites could be blocked due to some limitations by the firewall of the network. They may block websites that are not relevant or suitable.
In the following scenario, if you are restricted from visiting several sites, then you can switch to your mobile data instead. This is the easiest and simplest way of getting rid of any limitations.
Using Web proxy
Web proxies are another easy way to unblock websites over the internet that have been blocked by your ISP. You can get a list of many proxy websites when you type the keyword “web proxy” on google.
These proxy websites will help you to unblock any website you want to visit. Some web proxies also provide you the option to select the server just like a VPN. These proxies work fine, but they are not secured like the VPNs.
Using TOR network
TOR network somehow has the same mechanism as a VPN, but it is not that efficient while you talk about unblocking the websites. TOR network provides you more encryption through various TOR servers, but its speed is relatively slower than a VPN network.
The TOR browser is not compatible with all devices as well. It may not work perfectly fine on all of your devices, but it works best on a PC. You can download it by searching for it on Google.
Steps for using TOR:
Download and install the TOR browser
After installing, you’ll find a folder “Tor browser.”
Open that folder and click on the “Start Tor browser.”
Now click on the connect option, and your TOR browser is ready to rock.
You can check your IP by searching on google, if it is changed or not.
Using Google translate
Google translate is another easy and fun way to open blocked websites. Google translate is not only used to translate your text, but it will also translate your whole website if the URL of the website is provided. It can be used as a web proxy thing. Just follow these steps.
Open translate.google.com.
Type the website URL in the translate box and then select any of the languages except English.
Now once you are done putting the URL, click on the generated link present in the translated box and google will take you to the website.
Using the Wayback machine
Wayback machine is another smart and easy way to get access to the blocked websites. Wayback machines save the older versions of websites that you can visit to access any website.
However, you can only visit older versions of a website, but there are fewer possibilities for the newer and current version of the website.
You can get access to your websites in the following way with the help of the Wayback Machine.
Open web.archive.org
Type the URL of a blocked website that you wish to visit in the box and then press the enter button.
Now select the most recent updated version of the website by choosing the most recent date when the Wayback of the website was captured.
It’s done. Now you can enjoy it.
