The average person... no matter which Healthy Blood Pressure Protocol country you live in... consumes high amounts of processed foods every week. Processed foods can be anything from potato chips, Little Debbie's, or the trip through the McDonald's drive through for a Big Mac. These foods taste delicious but can often leave you with feelings of guilt and a lack of energy. Why are these foods commonly craved? The answer is simple... because that's what you eat. Your body craves the foods it is used to having and anything else is unsatisfying. Although this type of eating is unhealthy for everyone, it is especially serious for you, the one who has type 2 diabetes.

To change your diet into one that is healthy, you will need to throw out some of the processed foods and bring in some fresh foods. Fresh foods are an important part of a healthy diet and strangely enough, if you can stick it out, your body will begin to crave fresh foods. Throw out those chips and grab some cashews, trade-in your big Mac for a turkey sandwich on wheat, and leave the Little Debbie's donuts on the store shelf.

Healthy eating shouldn't just be for you, the one with diabetes... and the healthy choices, so important to a diabetic, are choices everyone should be making anyway. This is a bonus because you don't have to prepare a "diabetic" meal for yourself and something different for your family. Instead, get the whole family involved in healthy eating. Begin cooking your meals in olive oil instead of butter and incorporate more salads, lean meat, and fresh steamed vegetables. When this becomes a habit, your diabetes will be under control and your whole family will be healthier.

You may be a person who has been eating unhealthy your whole life and the concept of changing those habits seems impossible. Don't be discouraged... lifestyle changes don't become easy overnight. Challenge yourself but be realistic and give yourself time to adjust to a new way of thinking and a fresh way of eating. Are anti-diabetic medications the answer to dealing with type 2 diabetes? They may be used temporarily, but your goal is to get off drugs... because you can be healed from diabetes! You can reverse type 2 diabetes!
