Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or commonly known to us as ADHD is a mental deficit that results in behavioral disorders such as inattentiveness, hyperactivity and impulsiveness. It takes shape in early childhood, but can continue through adulthood too. School-going children are often diagnosed with ADHD, however it must be noted that symptoms of inattentiveness and hyperactivity alone should not be confused with ADHD.

As ADHD is hard to diagnose, many a time a hyperactive child maybe declared as having ADHD, but it may not be so. Symptoms that indicate the possibilities of a child or an adult having ADHD are primarily hyperactivity, impulsiveness or inattention, but inactivity, Dullness and lethargy could also be considered as symptoms of ADHD. However, not all symptoms may be together in in a single person, instead it could be a combination of two or more symptoms of ADHD.

It is very hard to control a hyperactive child and therefore teachers often ask parents to put their child on medication. Medications for ADHD can be particular harsh and also produced harmful side effects, as their main composition is that of a nerve suppressant. Cause other mental conditions and could also impede normal growth.
