Tons of fun! Just like the board game but crafting provides an added dimension. Love the soundtrack.. Edit: Just finished all achievements. Crafting all legendaries and all items requires lots of gold and materials. I was level 173 when I got my last required Adamantine. Farmed the end missions quite a bit. Recommend to any fan of the D20 board game series. Rewriting my review, because patches 1.03 and 1.04 added quite a bit. I love that the developers are listening to fans. Highly commendable. There is still an issue with being unable to use Haste twice. 1. Have Birdsong put "Jack of All Trades" on the bird guy. 2. Caste "Haste" with bird guy to get a second action. (This consumes "Jack of All Trades") 3. Caste "Haste" again. It doesn't give you another action to work with. Above scenario is also true with the combat reward that gives a bonus action (when combined with Haste).. This is not Dungeons & Dragons.its just a game with the same name. So for people that really love Dungeons&Dragons could be really disapointing playing this kind of strategy/RPG that have nothing to do with the real D&D.. Initially I wasn't impressed from the reviews I saw and some YouTube videos. Then I watched the launch live stream with Sophie and Fred where they talked about the issues and their plans to resolve them. There's already been a few patches which did exactly that! Great work guys. This is a fun digital version of the board game of the same name which is about to come out, based on the earlier D&D board games. Those were based on the 4th Edition ruleset, and this one isn't much different even though there some effect called Advantage and Disadvantage now. The rule set doesn't really matter much other than the names of the abilities you have (At Will, Daily, Utility etc). For as simple as it seems this game actually has a lot of strategy to it! You can move and do an action each turn. If you fail to explore (move to an edge tile to reveal a new tile) then Encounters happen. These suck, a lot. But there's a lot of different ways you can avoid them and picking those at the right time is a big challenge and kind of fun. Do you take the few hits it's going to take for your tank to cross three tiles to get to you or do you burn a Crystal Ball to keep yourself out of trouble during the trek? When you complete a map, especially by the skin of your teeth, you get a huge rush of satisfaction. I'm really enjoying this game so far. Inventory could use a second look from the devs (which they are going to do). All in all, this is a really enjoyable light game with a lot of depth to it, a comfortable UI, pretty graphics, fantastic sound and music and an excited and responsive development team behind it.. IF YOU'RE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE BOARD GAME, YOU MAY NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT THIS GAME IS. RESEARCH BEFORE PURCHASE. This game is great, for what it's supposed to be. The addition of crafting, treasures, and adrenaline really balance out the gameplay and address two of my main issues with the board game (pacing, and strategic choices). I'm really having a good time with this, but I knew what I was getting into.. Feels like a mobile game ported to PC. The graphics are fine, but there's nothing to it. If they had an iPhone version I could see myself playing it on a train, you can't sit down and play this as an RPG, there's nothing to it, it has no: story, voice acting, cutscenes, customisation etc.. I have never played the boardgame before, but I really enjoyed this version of the game. I'm actually at the end of the game, I've got only the last quest to beat at Horrific Difficulty. It is true that this game can be challenging but I think that's what makes it fun to play. Horrific Difficulty seems imposible at first, but if you do all the quests at Normal and Hard and craft enough Equipment, it will be much more doable (once there, Horrific is the best part of this game :P). I think it's ok to have to do a quest 2 or 3 times before succeeding it. Personnally, I think the randomness of the game is quite entertaining :P. There are some rules that weren't very clear when I first started (and I did the tutorial!), but they just released a Game Rulebook to help with that, so that's cool. I like that each Hero is unique and has a different purpose. There is also many ways to play the same Hero (by changing the Powers) so it doesn't get boring. Another thing I like is that they keep improving the game by listening to the players and making changes to balance the game. Finally, I just got the 4 dlcs and tried them out. I like the fact that it helped me farm the crafting materials that I needed to complete my Heroes Build (before that I was grinding the before last Quest to get Legendary Chest XD). Honestly, I don't think the buffs are that overpowered. I still have trouble defeating the last quest at Horrific, which is a good sign :P. Overall, this game is really fun and kept me busy for a good couple of hours, it is really well worth the price ! I'm looking forward to new dlcs with maybe more quests, Heroes?, Powers, Items, etc. Good job and keep listening to your players and improving our gaming experience ! Very appreciated :D.. Disappointed doesn't even come close to how I feel. The turn-based, tactical rpg that this game had going was really nice. I tried giving it the benefit of the doubt, but the only way for you to become stronger is through loot boxes. I understand that there are those out there who enjoy these types of things, but the RNG-susing is way too real. Really, it has good mechanics, and if character creation was a thing I would continue playing. Sadly, it is not.. Being an old player of Dungeon & Dragons, I think that this game is a good representation of the board game. It is challenging enough and you keep playing several hours without realizing it. It is a good alternative game when you cannot play Dungeon and Dragons board game with your friends. In addition, the low price made it attractive for a player who wants to spend hours on a game and have fun.
