About This Game

Steel Storm: Burning Retribution is a top down action shooter with old school spirit. It marks the return of top-down shooters with new twists. The game has score oriented competitive gameplay, and is designed for people who like fast paced action, hordes of smart enemies, destructible worlds and ground shaking explosions.
The events take place in an alternative universe where you control an advanced hovertank, packed with the most advanced and sophisticated weapons. Your task is simple, but nevertheless not trivial. In the fight against extraterrestrial invaders, you must prevail!

AMAZING shooter. I absolutely love this game.. I got Steel Storm a while back in HiB3, didn't play it much at the time, but thought I'll give it a play now.
- I like it so far. It's a good fun and challenging game.
- I really appreciate your support for Linux.
- The AI seems quite good, and the combat is fun and challenging.
- I think it's perfectly okay to ask players to give the game a good review or rating, and I will do that.
- I will buy your new MOBA game. I hope the Linux support comes for that too.
- had a minor issue with framerate dropping to 6fps on one occassion. I think there's an issue with the AI getting bogged down in certain situation near a ramp. No big deal - I killed the tanks with the rogue AI and the game sped up again.
- the "other dev" who gave you a zero on metacritic is an♥♥♥♥♥hat if you ask me :). Great old school top down shooter feel with bullet hell-ish twitch combat. Very tight controls and polished atmosphere.. Save your money,just a flash game on steam! BORING 2/10. Nice Game I wish that they make more games like this

Pretty fun game, It plays like the old tanks game back on Win 95 but with updated graphics campign mode and world editor to keep building missions for yourself or other which means high replay value for this title. Awesome game for a low price tag.. Not worth the full $15 price, but a great game to pick up when it goes on sale.

Don't set a goal to sit down and beat this game. It isn't that type of experience. This game is great for picking up and playing whenever you have an hour or two to kill.. Its a good game, 6/10. Steel Storm: Retribution is a good indie attempt at the shoot’em up genre, but if this came out as an AAA title, it will instantly fail. In terms of graphics, this game is average at best, the lighting is very low-key. I would say it is about the same as Zombie Driver in terms of graphics. The level design, although very nicely colored, is extremely repetitive. The layout is different yes, but the core mechanics of beating the map is the same. On the other hand, the weaponry in this game is fantastic, it’s a shame the devs implemented them completely wrong. Instead of making special weapons into an upgrade system, they made it based off of cool down. As a result, they immediately killed off any chance of re-playability for the game. On the bright side the enemy mechs are nicely done, they look fantastic and the bosses do offer much difficulty and requires mad kiting skills to kill. Overall an okay game to play with some friends for about 15 minutes before boredom kicks in.. Very average "shooter" kind of game. The AI gets annoying at times like spawning all around you to overwhelm you; then you die... then you restart at the beginning of the level... without your startup weapon.

DISAPPOINTING... DO NOT BUY!
