Fun, addicting and overall well put together.. This game is very fun and i would reccomend it to anyone who likes a strategy card game. Atter reading many reviews, I had to write my own. As someone who has played this game for almost a year on the mobile app, I had to laugh at those that say it's only a play to win system.

Do you buy a FPS (First person shooter), and immediately jump into the elite squad? No, you wouldn't. So why would you expect to be able to PVP immedaitely? I've heard the complaint about being a pay to win with every TCG out there. Even MtG, which you have to pay for the software, could be classified as such.

This game is about building yourself. As an officer in a successful guild, more than 60% of the members have never spent a dime in the game. And yet, they are powerful members.

If you have the expectation that you will hit the floor running into PVP, think again. It's about building your character before you can do just that.

Spellstone is about clearing maps (PVE) which gives you gold, which allows you to "buy" cards from a goblin in your airship. Those cards can be anything and of any rank. You use those cards to better your deck so you can tackle harder areas. When you have multiple of cards, you can merge them into duo's (2 of the same) and 2 duos can become a quad. Each one has different art.

Much like MtG, cards (all creature) are broken into classes: dragon, angel, goblin, and even frog (there are many more). Those classes cycle during the year, giving you bonuses. For example, dragon and frog are the current two: dragon give a health regen buff every round to all your dragon cards, the frogs lash out with their tongues poisoning your oppenent's creatures.

Overall, the graphics are good and tame, but I never thought them being childish, and I am 50.

If you are looking for a great game that takes time, I'd recommend Spellstone.. This is a game for grown men.

Yeah, it is p2w. Yeah, if you want to play it for free, it will take you MONTHS to climb into good guilds.

Therefore, if you're a kid or you're poor, I don't recommend this game to you.

Please know that there actually is many competition on this game.

Dire Tide is the first best guild in the World at this time .
All top 20 or top 25 guilds are member of alliances with many guilds in it.

There is the Pirates/Bairs alliance (Dire Tide are the leaders), the Family Alliance (Dragon Family is the leader) and the P3nis alliance (Ph3nix are the leaders). All of these alliances are fighting to rule the top 25.

50 players per guild, that's between 200 and and 400 players per alliance ! YEAH, you read right.

If you want to play a funny game that you can play on your Smartphone as much as on your computer and join an alliance and have fun while spending money, PLAY THIS.

If you're looking for fun and play for free without wanting to spend, it's OK ! You can be patient and be in a TOP 25 guild without spending a single buck. You'll just need some time. PLAY THIS.

If you want to be in top 5 guilds without spending a cent too, good luck. It's going to take time and be painful, but you could do that.

I'm playing this for more than ONE YEAR (on my phone) and I love this. Made a lot of friends and competition is GREAT. Just installed it on STEAM and it's GOOD.

By the way, you CAN play it at high resolutions and it will look PERFECT. I don't know why some say they can't.

The only downside of this game : devs sometimes go full retard (like their last boost on Seafolk cards), but it's no big deal.. Ive been playing this game for a year + so ignore the play time on steam. It is the only game, as an adult in my thirties, where I have played every single day. Its a wonderful balance for those who want to play something not too complex but complex enough that there is good substance. I dont have time to get crazy into MTG/hearthstone or the like anymore, but I love TCG/CCGs so this game is a great compromise for me.

The game has weekly events and monthly events which keeps the meta dynamic and prevents the decks from being too static. They continually add to this game on a regular basis and it reminds me of an MMO with how much it has grown since launch.

This game is somewhat pay to win, but its balanced out enough that you can still rank up and win events without spending money directly on cards. If you play often, you will get more draws and more chances at the best basic set which can hold its own against most P2w decks out there with some strategy. There are a few broken cards out there, but overall I have no issues with the p2w thats happening. I have thrown some money at this game lately because I play it so often and they support it well and I figured it was worth it to me.

TLDR : this game is absolutely worth your time if you want a simpler, yet still deep, TCG. Dont expect hearthstone or MTG and you will love this.
