About This Game

PIXELMAN is a retro styled action-filled, high-score chaser, where you control the title character in his mission to rescue the citizens of Pixville from the evil Baron Von Pixel and his contraptions.
In PIXELMAN you need to keep your combos going to be able to make it into the online leaderboards!

PIXELMAN's gameplay harkens back to a time where every token counted, as was the case with games such as Donkey Kong, Galaga, Moon Patrol and others from the golden era of arcades. You have simple controls and goals, and the difference between being a regular Joe or the king of the arcade is your ability to completely master them.

The citizens of Pixville are counting on you!

How to Play

Controlling PIXELMAN is very simple: you press and hold to go up, release to go down, and you can also use the pad to move faster (but with less accuracy!) Your goal is to rescue the citizens (humans and their pets!) to keep your heroic energy up, and also avoid crashing into buildings, traffic, and Von Pixel’s weapons and traps.
If you don’t rescue anyone for a while, your heroic energy will go down; and if it reaches zero, you´ll lose your powers and fall!

XBox 360 Controllers, Mouse and Keyboards supported (We truly recommend playing with a controller).

Combos

Every time you rescue a Pixelian, your combo meter will go up. Once you’ve rescued 5 in a row, your score will start to multiply! BUT, if you fail to rescue a single soul, you meter will deplete, and you’ll have to start all over again. Keep the combos going for maximum high-scorage!

Power Ups

From time to time, you’ll come across a shield. If you grab it, you’ll activate the power up mode! In this mode, your score and combo meter multiply, your speed goes up, and you can’t get hurt! The bad thing is, it only lasts for one hit, so you better watch out!

Grab an atom and get the power to shoot fireballs! You can accumulate up to 4, if you do, you'll get a super shot! That super shot can destroy everything in its path and do extra damage to the bosses!

PIXELMAN

He’s Pixville’s senior superhero, his superpowers are flying and untying knots really fast. He also loves podiums! His main weaknesses are buildings, bombs, lasers and missiles… nothing that a good power up can’t fix!

PIXELGIRL

She’s Pixville’s new superhero! She’s pretty much like PIXELMAN, but faster and cooler! Once you learn her quirks, she’ll start racking up points like nothing!

PIXELNINJA

He's very mysterious, we don't know anything about him.

Baron Von Pixel

PIXELMAN’s main antagonist is a mustache-twirling villain who hates everyone in Pixville. He managed to buy a few rusty WWI weapons on Craigslist, and he’s not afraid to use them! His main hobby is to tie people up and leave them on top of buildings, trees and cars. Only PIXELMAN can stop his devious schemes!

Podiums

What’s a superhero without a podium to stand on? In PIXELMAN you start on top of a sad soapbox, but to show their gratitude after being rescued, the Pixelians will start building new podiums for you! Can you unlock them all? Are you the hero Pixville needs? Or the hero Pixville deserves? How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Online Leaderboards

The game doesn’t have an ending. You can play until your eyes bleed or the speed goes so far up that you can’t control your hero anymore! The goal of the game is to make it to the online leaderboards. And in order to achieve that, you need to maintain your combos going. If you have a high combo and you manage to get a power up, you can make over 1000 points for just one rescue!

It is addictive like other games of its ilk. This game reminds me of Scramble. Worthy of a couple of bucks. so i picked up this game for 1.39$ sale and its not the greatest game i recomend geometry dash but PIXELMAN is a okay game.. Imagine Flabby Bird was realeased in 1986 on NES in a low-budget segment. That is pretty much everything you need to know about this game.. Pixelman is a decent offering in the endless flyer genre, with cute graphics and retro music, but would it really hurt to let people pick a stage instead of forcing them to start all over again?

EDIT: Ok, so you can pick the second and third stage in endless mode when unlocked. However, i still can't recommend this to a general audience. I think it's a bit too expensive, most people will only play this once or twice and the tutorial is obnoxious. It's worth it on sale or if you really like the genre.. Update 4/9/2018 - I no longer have the achievements completed, boo hoo : ( but I love everything that was added to this game, new levels, ninja man, achievements and more! At this price with a ton of content, challenges and replayability, you cant go wrong!

Watch out for the asteroids, space mines and of course with Baron Von Pixel's ship! Trust us, this will be hard!

What's coming next you say? ARCADE MODE!
Yes! All 3 levels will be combined into one, you´ll have lives and you''ll need to defeat end of level bosses, so that mode won't be endless like the others. It's going to be awesome, you´ll see!

. PIXELMAN now runs at 60FPS!:
Good news everybody!

Finally after a few unforeseen issues we released the 60fps update!

PIXELMAN now plays super smooth on almost every computer we've tested it on, and, for the people with on-board videocards or just plain old computers, we added a few graphic options so they can play it anyways!

If the game runs slow at 60fps, go to options and first try to run it on a window instead of full screen (you can also use alt+enter to toggle FS & Window modes on the fly). If that doesn't work, disable V-Sync, aaaaand if that doesn't work either, you can disable the High Quality mode, if you do that the game will revert back to 30fps mode.

We've noticed that laptops with Nvidia graphics cards tend to default to the on-board Intel card for PIXELMAN, so if you have a laptop with a Nvidia graphics card and the game runs slow for you, make sure you change the default card for PIXELMAN (right click on pixelman(dot)exe/run with graphics processor/change default...).

Also! We changed the endless level names from easy/med/hard to countryside/city/space (yes, the hard level will be in space) because most players thought that the game only had one level. Hopefully with this change more people will try all the levels!

Now we're back on track working on the Hard/Space level and after that the Arcade mode!

The reason PIXELMAN is in Early Access is that we needed more time to develop more awesome stuff, the game you're playing right now is just the Medium Endless Level. PIXELMAN will have both Easy and Hard levels, and also the Arcade Mode with bosses!

Easy Endless: Country fields, with barns, windmills, cows and farm animals.

Medium Endless: The City of Pixville you play in now.

Hard Endless: ??? (we will tell you when it's time).

Arcade mode, the 3 levels together, with end level bosses and an ending!

Every level will have it's own leaderboard, so you might be great at playing endless, but can you deal with the bosses?

Easy level will be released in the next few weeks, and soon after that hard and Arcade. Stay tuned! . PIXELMAN is Coming out of Early Access on February 28th!:

Howdy, Pixville's saviors! We're working super hard on PIXELMAN's Easy Level, and we wanted to share with you guys a little bit of our progress!

Easy takes place in the Far West, in a little quiet town that still looks like it's the 1800's. Are you bad enough to stop Baron Von Pixel's shenanigans and bring back peace to PixTown?

We can't tell you what Hard is going to look like, but after the 3 endless levels are finished, we're going to show you Arcade Mode, nothing can prepare you for what's coming...
