ORing Ready to Launch TSN-enabled Industrial Ethernet Switch

Driven by the rapid development of industrial automation, connected cars, and autonomous vehicles, faster and higher-performance data communications have become a necessity in today's networking environment. Now customers' needs for high bandwidth, low latency, and management efficiency can all be met with the IGS-RX164GP+ industrial Ethernet switch developed by ORing, a leading industrial networking solution provider, as the switch harnesses a variety of advanced technologies including complete Layer 3 features, TSN (Time-Sensitive Networking) support, 10G speed, and optical fiber support, to name a few. 100mbps poe switch

The IGS-RX164GP+ comes with a full set of Layer 3 features, including static routing, RIP v1/v2, OSPF, PIM-SM, PIM-DM, and VRRP. Layer 3 plays a key role in achieving higher security and management efficiency as packages are forwarded to their destinations intelligently based on IP addresses. As a result, the IGS-RX164GP+ is ideal for complex system architectures consisting of different domains or different VLANs such as railway or metro systems. Besides the RIP routing protocol, a long-standing protocol that will determine the best route to a destination using the hop count as the metric, the switch also supports OSPF which uses the link state to determine the network route, thereby speeding up the convergence of routes. Supporting both PIM-DM and PIM-SM, the switch can provide simple setup for small companies or work in large networks, particularly ones with WAN links. The complete set of L3 features enables the IGS-RX164GP+ to provide fast forwarding via hardware, hence improving network performance and resiliency while enabling flexible network design and greater control of network traffic.

The IGS-RX164GP+ is also TSN-enabled with compliance with IEEE 802.1AS, Qav, and Qat. Therefore, mission-critical, time sensitive data will not be held up on the network. TSN is important for applications requiring extremely low latency such as factory automation and autonomous vehicles as data from various sensors must be transmitted smoothly without any delays. It also allows convergence of multiple classes on one network. The IEEE 802.1AS is part of a set of standards for AVB (Audio Video Bridging) which facilitates the transport of high performance audio and video on a LAN, allowing video and audio streams to be synchronized. With AVB support, the IGS-RX164GP+ can sync traffic from automotive infotainment and in-vehicle networking systems to provide better audio/video experience as audio from the radio and video from the infotainment system is streamed and bridged across a common network. ORing will demonstrate the AVB function of the IGS-RX164GP+ at Hannover Masse 2019 from April 1 to 5 (Booth No. A21).
