If you aren't dealing with some massive enough to need its own larger Ted's woodworking Review   base, this simple plywood base for a table saw is ideal. Take a three quarter inch sheet of plywood and cut out a center portion large enough to fit your table saw base into it. Once again, add plywood brackets for stability, and suspend it between two sawhorses. Since this smaller than the crosscutting table, drill some holes to connect it with your sawhorses, so it doesn't bounce off. This allows you to move around the saw and gain a safer and more accurate viewing points for your work.

Bounce back from your saw blades is bad. Most of the time, we think it is unavoidable, but that isn't true. This is my favorite trick here because its much safer than letting the blade pop back on you and makes even, clean cuts. Precut different common lengths of blocks, and clamp them to the outside of the piece of wood you are cutting. This allows the blade to rest on this extension instead of slipping as the board pieces split and pinch it. Remember to never cut where you will bind the saw blade; think before you cut

Once again, poor cuts and blade bounce back is the issue here. When you are cutting an excessively long board, the pressure of the descending end changes the angle of the board and blade, causing pinching. Take a sheet of plywood and attach two legs at the end. Then drill two holes in the other end, which will attach to your saw table. On the saw table, drill and place corresponding long screws facing up. Then simply drop your slide onto those corresponding screws, and fasten it down with some wing nuts. This will keep your boards from bending and cracking, or pinching the blade as you finish the cut.
