Miller Johnson Represents Integrated Packaging Machinery in Sale to Douglas Machine’s Holding Company

Integrated Packaging Machinery, LLC (IPM) was acquired by the employee-owned holding company that owns Douglas Machine, Inc. (Douglas). IPM offers a diverse set of high-quality packaging-related equipment and services. In just 20 years, they have experienced staggering growth as they moved into robotics, established internal business units and developed a customer-driven approach known as the “The IPM Method.” Douglas is a global leader in automated secondary packaging solutions and has installed more than 9,000 machines in 30 countries.automatic granule packing machine

Integrated Packaging Machinery, LLC will operate independently as a sister company to Douglas Machine under its 100% employee-owned holding company. Together this is a major step in bringing fully integrated packaging lines to the business portfolio resulting in sustained value creation.

Max Barnes led Miller Johnson’s team of Jim Bruinsma (Employee Benefits) and Grant Schertzing (Real Estate). They worked with XLS Partners team of investment banking professionals.Integrated Packaging Machinery is a family-owned solutions-based engineering company headquartered in Rockford, Michigan. From a humble start in 1998, they experienced rapid growth and now employ more than 80. Their expanded services include case packing, conveying, palletizing, inspection, assessment-based training, safety education and integration.

Douglas Machine, Inc. was founded in 1964 and is headquartered in Alexandria, Minnesota. They provide solutions for paperboard, corrugated and shrink film. They design and manufacture case and tray packers, shrink wrap systems, cartoners, sleevers, and palletizers.
