Mary Kay's New TimeWise Miracle Set 3D Took Five Years to Create

Many of us associate Mary Kay with easy-to-wear lipstick shades and prettily-packaged gift sets that our mom's best friend used to sell, but we'd be remiss not to acknowledge its growing presence in the skin-care game. Though the brand is over half a century old, its latest launch — which protects skin from UV damage and beyond — proves that it's nothing short of cutting edge.To get more mary kay skin care, you can visit shine news official website.

New this month, the Mary Kay TimeWise Miracle Set 3D collection "reflects...an understanding of how today’s environment impacts the look of skin aging," Lucy Gildea, the chief scientific officer at Mary Kay, tells Allure (Gildea has a Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology and previously worked at Procter and Gamble for 15 years). The collection includes a cleanser, SPF 30 day lotion, eye cream, and nighttime moisturizer; used in tandem, this squad protects skin from, well, life.

"More than just UV rays, other environmental stressors, such as car exhaust, air pollution, stress, lack of sleep and more can lead to the production of free radicals," Gildea notes. "It’s been known that free radicals contribute to the look of premature skin aging, but it’s a broader scope of what triggers free radicals that have come to light in recent years." According to Gildea, the majority of skin aging (think sagging, fine lines, etc.) can be attributed to external lifestyle factors, while only 20 percent comes from the natural, internal aging process.
The antidote? Antioxidants, in part. The TimeWise collection contains some of the most potent ones on the market, including resveratrol. And while there are tons of products out there that promise to protect skin from pollution, Mary Kay's secret sauce (officially dubbed the patent-pending, proprietary Age Minimize 3D Complex, infused throughout the collection) has been proven to "reduce the damaging effects of diesel exhaust particles on human skin cells," Gildea shares. City-dwellers, take note.

While the research behind the formulas is complex (the line took five years to create), the products themselves are distilled into a super-simple, straightforward format. Even the packaging exudes breezy minimalism that would make a welcome addition to any medicine cabinet, which makes sense since the collection is targeted towards an incredibly broad demographic. "This skin-care solution is not about a person’s age — it's about the age of their skin," Gildea explains. "Everybody’s skin ages at a different rate based on how they live their lives." (Since we're not planning on skipping the late nights and/or happy hours anytime soon, we're totally on board with an arsenal of products that helps mitigate the damage.)

You can snag the new TimeWise Miracle Set 3D on Mary Kay's website for $110 per set. Cheers to protecting our skin from the perils of modern day living.
