pretty well done overall, but the mission is bugged as hell. never crash back to desktop once, but i have encounter tons of mission bugs that either make it impossible to complete and have to load the earlier save. and hope that the save is old enough that you don't encounter the bugged dialogue yet but not too old you have to play a whole lot of things again. the bug is mostly logical oversight, like if you finish a side mission before another, the npc won't talk to you again even hes there, or some more ridiculous one such as if you talk to the npc too much she won't respond again even the mission objective is to speak to her. even so i am still giving it a barely recommend, because otherwise the combat and ship customization is fun. although the early stage of the game you will only use 1 single type of weapon as the other are just meh. dev have heart on making the story and effort are visible, just the bugs are absolutely horrible and frustrating.. So far the game is really good and from my point of view, i have none of the bugs and issues some of the others users seem to have. To be honest i feel that a lot of the negative review are nitpicking for features and instead of enjoying the game they will leave a negative review for the single feature the game does not have but does not need either.. This game has some very nice machanics pirated from Freelancer (it really want to be Freelancer but in 2D) but it is just boring and confusing so far. The initial energy of a new player is being eaten up by very confusing ship customization system and badly implemented mission tracking system. Also steering of your ship is horrible in combat - your weapons fire where the nose of your ship is pointed instead of always following your cursor and you have to click key 'b' to have your ship follow with its nose the cursor (then flip back after combat so you free the cursos to do other things). Freelancer had it done in a perfect way and I am just baffled why the devs did not pirate also that into their game. They did not and because of that they made a product that is very irritating to play. For now I give this game a 'no' and put it on a shelf. Maybe I will come back some day and change my verdict.. I like the idea of this game but too many bugs make it frustrating. Every new main release I try to give this a go and see if it is improved. It's latest build, in the ship design I am unable to rotate certain objects eg: cockpit, engines. Another annoying point is all my old save games from previous builds I cannot delete. Very much a likeable game, WHEN it is full release I think.. Budget star citizen. I enjoy the ship craft, but I believe this left early access too early. There are many quests still bugged and some game breaking bugs such as getting stuck and main line quests unable to be completed in some scenarios. Typos galore but that's minor. Overall I enjoy the game but it is not without problems.. The biggest problem with this game is it is about 6 months to a year from being ready to release. I just can't recommend it with the number of serious bugs and issues present in release. In four hours of playing I encountered the following numerous times: - Getting stuck on my ship because the doors wouldn't open, and having to reload a save - Waypoints for navigation/autopilot ceasing to function, until I restarted the game client - Various stuck on terrain/clipping bugs in maps Combining these bugs with the clunky controls, the fact that you can't zoom out far enough to actually use your weapon max range (and thus npcs seem to be able to fire at you from out your visible line of sight), and the fact that the game is just not fun to advance in mean that it is a definite *no* from me. Do - not - buy. Save your money.
