Lack of Self-Belief

The outcomes of my life are a result of a seriesThe Longevity Blueprint it is gone. Crying over spilled milk is a sheer waste of time and energy. The result is tears, and more tears, reflections and more reflections whereas today you can make a decision that others will "wow" at in the future.

I could not advance my studies due to lack of school fees even though I was a straight A student. My dad made a suggestion based on given circumstances; that the quickest way out of this situation was for me to become a school teacher at primary school. That way it meant he had to borrow to just get me through the first year, second year students would go for teaching practice in the actual schools and get paid a stipend for that. In the third year I would then look after my own fees and upkeep. This, to him, was the quickest solution to an impending disaster where I had fourteen other siblings to look after. The longer I took to be independent meant the destinies of those behind me were at stake. I had to make that decision to become a teacher but I chose to be a secondary school teacher instead.

Even after enrolling at Belvedere Technical teachers College, I made a decision to risk studying something not known in my village, the field of computers. Being a straight A student I did it again coming out tops both in computers and double distinction in Teaching Practice and Theory of Education (Psychology, Philosophy and Sociology). Joining private sector was automatic as the first company I was attached to liked my approach to work, CompuServe Ltd. After 2.5 years I made a decision to join Anglo where I stayed for 6 years. It was after setting up my own business that I still made a decision to leave the luxuries that Anglo American Corporation lavished us with. Life can be summed up as a series of decisions made over time.

So if the easiest way to have success is to copy it, the key is determining what qualities are the ones to be copied. It's one thing to look like success by copying the trappings of the "having" - the car and home, the toys and entertainment that may really be beyond affordable. It's a quite different focus to copy the "being" and then the "doing" which ultimately create the "having," which is the ability to say "YES" to that desired lifestyle... and to afford it. First we must BECOME the person who will DO the things that create the HAVE. Be. Do. Have. That's the order for success.
