Scientist Sanjay Mehra is able to communicate with aliens beyond planet earth using various computing devices. He goes to the space center to browse this news to his colleagues who refuses to believe him; on his way home with his pregnant wife Sonia; the car they are traveling in meets with an accident killing Sanjay. Shortly after Sonia gives birth to a baby boy, Rohit who is mentally affected as a result of the accident. Rohit grows up physically but mentally have thinking of a child. This affect his performance both in the outer world and at school; one day a space-ship with some aliens from another planet land in the vicinity leaving one of the aliens behind. Fortunately for Rohit the alien ended up being his companion who completely transform his mental condition to that of being a normal man.
Sanjay Mehra and his wife Sonia live a middle-class life. Sanjay's passion is studying the heavenly bodies through various computers, telescopes, and communicators as he believes there is life beyond Earth. He continuously transmits the sound generated by the syllable "Om" and hopes that someone somewhere will hear this signal and respond to it. One day, he does get a response, and he hurries to share this with experts--only to be scoffed at. Humiliated at this, he returns home and that is when an earthquake occurs, destroying the house with all the equipment, seriously injuring a pregnant Sonia, and killing Sanjay. Because of to her injuries, Sonia is able to deliver a baby boy, albeit with serious mental disabilities, whom she names Rohit. The child does survive and grow up - only physically, as mentally he is a mere child. Complications arise when Rohit is taunted and made fun of in school. Is Rohit making all this up with an overly active childish imagination (for who can believe a mentally challenged individual having hallucinations about aliens and spaceships?) or is he really hiding an extra-terrestrial?

For outside observers, who have been marginally aware of the mammoth Indian film industry for half a century, the giant leap evident in recent production is striking. It's been suggested that it's the input of MTV there.

We recognise the old plagiarisms, the bursting into song and the impossibly beautiful people still devoted to their mothers. However the characters are now so much more vivid and the texture of image and sound much more commanding. The English speaking cinema can't match this deluge of sensation.

This Bollywood item manages to negotiate the stickier area of having a retarded hero pal with tots and win the impeccably pale complexioned girl. Hrithik Roshan's central performance is, like his work in MAIN PREM KI DIWANI HOON, deceptive with us not realising till the film has run more than an hour that he's doing something more substantial than the two dimensional lead he seems to be. It's not expected to find a body builder able to adjust his playing with such subtlety. It's an act he might be able to introduce into an even larger arena.

The effects work is accomplished and their extraterrestrial is a remarkably effective concept with mobile features and a range of expressions. We notice his peers were scared off by (two) rogue. elephants.

Don't ask why they are doing their numbers in front of the Canadian Rockies. That is spectacular enough in itself. An amazing drama copied from Hollywood film. I think it was Hrithik who was the best in the film. The story was copied of Hollywood film. E.T 's copy well done Rakesh Roshan for making such an great copy.

Hrithik was the best ever.

Music was fabulous so is the the super six. Preity looked fantastic so is Hrithik.

Editing was great so is the flick copied from the E.T

Rekha was excellent. The direction was great but I tell you each bollywood film is copied from Hollywood film. Those directors do amazing jobs and than here bollywood copies. They don't get original ideas. I mean why can't you make great movies like original like water and like DDLJ. K3g and original like anand film.

Always running behind Hollywood. Dhoom and Dhoom 2 is an copy of a Hollywood film as well. Be original damn you people. Get real and to take the plagiarism of other films. this flick was good copy but be real.
