Fast forward 8 months, Zylstra is now back on the golf courseTotal Blackout Protocol again. She says she has made a 180 degree turn and the difference is like "night and day." Her doctors say the amazing turnaround would have been unlikely without the stem cell treatment. Her doctors in Canada were so impressed that they would like to make the treatment available in Canada to treat other MS patients as well.

Adult Stem Cells are helping more and more people. Stories like Louise's give Multiple Sclerosis patients hope. Adult Stem Cells are the future of medicine and the future is now.Like others with multiple sclerosis, I've had my share of physical challenges and limitations. But my memories are of the many personal interactions I've had as a result of living with multiple sclerosis for forty years.

When I learned I had M.S. and my ex-husband decided he wanted a divorce, I was devastated. I had two small children (one and three years old), and decided to move back to Madison, Wisconsin where I grew up and my parents still lived. They were wonderful and I am forever grateful to them. They did things with my children that were difficult for me. My Dad took my son to Badger Hockey games at the University of Wisconsin and when my daughter wanted to go shopping, my Mom eagerly picked her up and took her to the mall.

As I struggled to cope with my emotions, my sister helped put things into perspective. When, I complained that, "M.S. would now make it impossible for me to ride a bike," she replied, "For heaven sakes, you never liked bike riding." It was true and we laughed. One day, when my Mom and I talked about remarriage, she warned, "Don't tell anyone you have M.S. No one will want to marry you." The statement hurt, but I knew she had my best interest at heart. Later I discovered she was not far off the mark. A man told me he wanted to date me, but thought I was going to die. Luckily, my Dad blessed me with an optimistic spirit. Time and again he said, "Everything works out for the best." Thus, when my neurologist stated that four out of five people with M.S. do just fine, I just knew I would be one of those "four out of five".
