Flash Gordon Movie Download Hd
Flash Gordon is an American football player who along with Dale Arden are returning to New York City after a long vacation, until the plane they are passengers on crashes into the laboratory of Russian scientist Dr. Hans Zarkov. Both Flash and Dale become unwilling passengers on-board Zarkov's rocketship as Zarkov sets a course for the planet Mongo. Arriving on Mongo, Flash and his companions find the planet is under the rulership of the evil Emperor Ming the Merciless and Ming is attacking Earth with natural disasters as he bids to destroy Earth. Realizing that Earth and the human race is in mortal danger, Flash decides to unite the kingdoms of Mongo and combine the forces of rivals Prince Barin and Prince Vultan to rescue Dale, who is to become Ming's wife and defeat Ming and save Earth from annihilation.
To me Flash Gordon seems like nothing so much as it does a gay Star Wars, and as such it is the work of genius. Flash is as colourful as any psychedelic album cover of the 1960s but with a tightness and assuredness to it that proves it wasn't the work of misguided, acid-drowned hippies (as some scenes might suggest at first), or indeed, of any contemporary mainstream film director. Flash feels like a labour of love rather than of a committee - it is infused with a loving care and understanding of what it's doing that means the film is never afraid to touch upon sex, violence and gore, yet does not feel it is therefore bound to being adult, and likewise in its technicolour vistas does not shy away from what some would label childish (or camp...), and unlike contemporary mainstream films it doesn't have a cocky or pretentious sense of its own worth (just think of every stupid, stupid film that has actually seriously tried to teach us something), and by its campness Flash actually (and quite charmingly) persuades us to underestimate it as a bit of pulp fun, which is perhaps why those who enjoy it really love it too. It should also be remembered that it has a plot that is authentically pulpy and rollicking good fun at that (even Star Wars dragged a bit, but not Flash Gordon), and I'd even go as far as to say that Flash is a proper epic, with its grand scale, cast of well-known actors (Brian Blessed!) and the fact that it gets so bloody much done (compare with Titanic, the wannabe-epic which got so little done - two people fall in love - in 3 hours).
Flash Gordon is the perfect Bank Holiday film, captivating and enjoyable from start to finish, it is one of a kind and I really don't think we'll ever see anything like it made ever again. Sam Jones stars as Flash Gordon, a New York Jets quarterback (So much for a hero)who goes up against Ming(Max Von Sydow), after Ming captures him and his girlfriend Dale(Melody Anderson) and forces her to marry him, however Flash escapes and gets the hawkmen to waste Ming once and for all. Flash Gordon at least for me, makes a great companion piece with Highlander. In that both feature a huge amount of style, great soundtrack and lovable goofiness. Flash Gordon could possibly be one of the greatest guilty pleasures ever made. However there is a flaw in that Sam Jones is terrible and he lacks any form of charisma. Indeed when compared to Christopher Lambert (Star of the companion piece Highlander) Lambert emerges with far more charisma and slightly more acting talent. Still Flash Gordon is a great movie, with a very enjoyable villain in Max Von Sydow who plans to blow up the earth, his answer? Why not! Flash Gordon as far as i'm concerned could very well be one of the coolest movies from the 80's. I love this movie.

As much as I like the previous answer, there was a small blurb explaining the rocket cycles in a pre-production note. Something about using them as emergency transportation for injured hawk-people who couldn't fly.
