About This Game

You are no hero … no prancing knight or scholarly wizard but a champion of the dark gods. As their chosen, you have command of legions of barbarians, beastmen and demons. Demon’s Rise: Lords of Chaos is a turn-based, tactical RPG set in a brutal and unforgiving fantasy world. Taking place amidst a horrific war in the cold north, the campaign will see your party fight innumerable enemies, huge monsters and powerful sorcerers. Victory will require the tactical use of terrain, morale, formations and magic. Build an increasingly powerful war band, command demonic allies, and crush those that stand against you.

•Tactical Choices: Use terrain effects, cover and line of sight to gain an edge over your enemies. Employ spells to hinder powerful enemies, area effect damage to clear the field of lesser foes and buffs to strengthen your allies.

•Build Your Party: Choose from 20 diverse character classes to build your war band. Your warriors will improve with every victory, becoming stronger and unlocking new powers and skills. Acts of courage and savagery on the battlefield will bring favor from your gods, which can mean the difference between glory and defeat.

•Collect Gear: Equip your warriors with powerful weapons, arcane objects, runic armor and legendary artifacts. There are thousands of items to find and collect, each with their own stat effects and background lore.

•Campaign: Fight through a lengthy campaign and numerous side quests that span more than 40 hours of play time. No level caps and the ability to replay levels at a harder difficulty add to the longevity.

I Bought the game already and have already completed it. I think there is more coming. At this time, for the amount of money it cost, it will keep you busy. There is still more I want to grind and do and play other classes.

There are 20 classes to choose from and unlike what someone else posted about the skills not being visible upon creation and team making, you actually have a toggle option to see all 6 abilities. You can also pick 6 of the same exact classes/characters too when creating a team. Want 6 death knights? go for it. However, each class or charcter per say offers a unique team buff which stacks.

It shows more coming on 4/30/2018 for an expansion perhaps? I dunno. But for what I paid I am happy personally.

The game does need more to do. There appears to be a "WORLD" option but you cannot go to any of the areas. Not sure if thats what it is for or not.

If your stuck in the campaign, just do "Quick Battles". You only have 1-19 avaialble and they are just different scenarios. As you progress through the campaign you will unlock to 30. Tip: 30 is the easiest one to grind very quickly and level up your characters.

As for creating a team - be diverse - ranged and tanks come in handy.

I do not know if the developers read these, I found a few bugs, nothing game breaking, but it may need some work.

Have fun all. Demon's Rise - Lords of Chaos is probably one of the best turn based games I have ever played. The fact that you play the "Bad Guys" makes the game original and more entertaining then other games simular to this one. You could probably play this game over and over again as there is many diferent "classes" and it looks like the developer of this game is brining out a lot of new content. (More characters to play). I can't wait to play Demon's Rise- War for The Deep. If it is half as good as this game I'd be extremely happy.. Ok didn't think it will be that good but I like it alot!
. I agree with the previous reviews. It's OK, but nothing special. Graphics are OK, sound is good. No changing camera angles is annoying, but doesn't break the game. There are a few minor bugs. Game is rather short - complete play through in about 20 h. Plenty of characters and equipment. Fair for the price.. Don't really know what i'm missing here since reviews are mostly good, but I didn't get into the game (and I played 7/8 hours so I really gave it a try).

The campaign suddenly becomes stupidly difficult ?? (from a few 100 hp mobs to 750 + 500 + 500 + respawning 80 hp mobs ? wat ? yes, spiders, i'm looking at you)
Missing rows of 85%-hit-chance hits very regularly, because ** m-a-g-i-c ** (No clue about how the atk/def stats work together, or the damage resist)
Mostly grinding for stuff, XP is too slow (after 8 hours i'm still level 5, can't grind my way through those damn spiders)

Hesitated about stopping a couple of times, and the spiders conviced me.

edit : ok i just tried to give it another go, just in case, and in a 10 minutes play I missed, on three different times, two 85%-hit-chance attacks out of three. I uninstall :-D. Game just released and developer already pushed a patch with QoL enhancements for PC. I was a bit unsatisfied at first with some things being to vague. First patch implemented popup windows to show stats for skills what made things much more clear and enjoyable.

You character slots level up at the end of a mission based on actions they did. Not sure of the exact math be attacking more and getting more kills seems to give me exp. Leveling up gives that character straight stat boosts. Also you get loot from winning missions or from the shop to that you can equip. Loot gives straight stat boosts as well and is how you would tailor your characters (e.g. more damage or more defense).

The game is kinda like a very simple turn based Diablo (the first one), but with missions on small maps.
