So boring, Jesus Christ why did I buy this game? Me and my friend died because one of themonkeys somehow pinned both of us at the same time.. Has promise. Just needs more work. The movement feels. hm. Not fluid. The inventory. I havent a clue how to work it. I select the GPS for example and hit use and I drop it. I dunno how that works. My friend who also bought the game keeps crashing on him. No idea what is happening with his game. But. It has promise.. bought a 4 pack for me and some friends decided to skip tutorial picked up a shotgun and followed my friends around demon jumped on 2 of me friends and the other tried killing them with his machete i ran out of ammo as 10 more demons showed up abandoned my team and ran towards a campfire for safety as i heard their screams asking me for help live for 45 more seconds after abandoning them 10/10 would leave my friends to die again. I PAID 8 BUCKS FOR THIS!?!?!?! DAMN IM MAD.. Its not the best it needs fixing: The mouse sensitivity is a little to fast Single player is a little to hard. Its a little to hard because there are no health potions, Scarcely scattered it would be hard but easier at the same time, that would make it better. Have a health bar From what I played that is what it needs, but I havent played a lot to add more. Missions: They should be already there not chosen And missions random generated items should be random generated Maps bigger, with that of course needs save points. Needs more maps, overall its ok not good, with the changes I said that need to be changed it would be good. P.S When these changes are made I will change my review.


Congo v0.4 Released Today! : Congo v0.4 is out today! We're happy to announce that after an unexpectedly long wait, we have managed to get this update out and it comes with a lot of taste-y ingredients. First of all, we have fixed the voice chat bug! A very frustrating bug that blocked Steam chat and the in-game voice chat would fail after a few minutes. A very simple fix on our end but came about right in the migration to Unreal Engine 4.8. which came with weeks of configuring everything to the new version and integrating all the great improvements that came with a more recent version of Unreal Engine. So captains, below is the patch notes! : Congo v0.4 Patch Notes Re-Designed Aiming System We've totally re-worked the aiming system from the ground up. The current players among you will see that the aiming point no longer shows unless targeted on an enemy. The targeting system is now more fluid and intuitive than before and each weapon influences the targeting system in different ways. Fixed Steam Voice Chat Bug We have fixed the voice chat bug! Player Names on by Default Player names now show by default. Press Tab to hide. Update to 4.8 This is a huge element to this release and has come with huge benefits to Congo. We have managed to take advantage of countless performance optimizations and fixed tonnes of bugs! Dynamic Navigation The navigation system for the demons is now fully dynamic thanks to upgrades in the Unreal Engine navigation system. The navigation can now be built at run-time with amazing efficiency. There were some areas of the maps where demons couldn't access because they were initially blocked. They can now access anywhere that's plausible. You're not as safe as you used to be. Enhanced AI Enhancements to the demon AI. This Congo v0.4 release is easily one of the most stable builds yet thanks to weeks and weeks of re-development and we're really excited to be able to use this as a main foundation for new content-heavy releases. v0.5 will be seeing more levels added (a training level and a day time level), new weapons, new items, new achievements, updated menus and much more! We'll be combining it with a number of marketing options available to us and hopefully we'll see an increase in the player base for you all to take advantage of and have other players to roam around the jungle with! Please let us know your thoughts on v0.4 and we'll keep you all updated on the progress of the new content!. Plans for v0.2 : Congo has been out now for over a week. It's been a great experience for us and hopefully you, the players, have had an equal great experience. We also recently published our v0.1c update, which featured some of the changes which had been relayed back to us through our forums [congothegame.boards.net] , through Twitter and some of the playthroughs people have been doing . It had fixed some of the main, pressing issues of the foliage blocking the camera, progress bars and a few more hints to what to do, but we want to push it further and let you all into what we are planning to do in the future. We have finalised our v0.2 change list which I will post down below and we are also working on releasing our v0.1d in the mean time, hopefully soon after this weekend. v0.2 Plans: New Game Mode - Defense Defense mode will be more of a traditional horde-style game mode where all 4 players must defend an objective for as long as possible, travelling out into the jungle where possible to collect supplies and equipment. 4 New Defense Levels Four new levels for Defense game mode. Singleplayer Mode Currently, singleplayer mode plays like ultra-hardcore difficulty. We are working on several changes to make a solo-play experience more forgiving by adjusting spawn levels and item drops. We will also be introducing a new item to help survival Hunting Knife When equipped with a hunting knife, you have the ability to kill a demon once they have jumped you. This is a one-use item and can be found dropped around the jungle. In singleplayer mode you will start equipped with at least one. New Demon Type Making more of presence in the jungle now are a new type of demon. Smaller, faster, more agile but less dangerous than their bigger brothers, they dart out of the vegetation and knock you to the ground, leaving you vulnerable to further attack. Spectator Mode We will be adding a spectator mode for dead players. Currently, once you have been incapacitated you are left to watch your body. Not that fun, so in v0.2, if you are killed you can follow your teammates. Voice Chat In-Game In-Game Control Options Ability to view the controls without having to look at the manual. More Screen Resolution Options Update to Unreal Engine Updating to the later versions of UE4 will bring a number of improvements and optimisations. Bug fixes and Optimisations Look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts on the plans for v0.2, for v0.1d we will be adding in more a few more navigation tools, buttons for the menus, fixed issues with the Cancel buttons and fixed an issue where guns weren't animating / sounding off on the Client.. Update to UE4.8 and Progress Report : Hey Congo adventurers! We have been hard at work upgrading to the latest version of Unreal Engine and like all big updates in technology, it comes with loads of issues! The main issue we were facing was that the game would consistently crash on load. As you can imagine, thats a pretty big problem, but it took us quite a long time to narrow down what was causing the issue and luckily we've found it now and it's been sorted. This has stopped us from uploading new updates to fix some of the issues you guys have been experiencing such as the Steam Voice Chat issue where UE4 was blocked the Steam Voice Chat and limiting you to only the in-game chat which ended up not working. This has since been fixed. There has been some massive improvements to the navigation system in UE 4.8 that allows us to build the navigation dynamically with a minimal hit on performance. In the current version, the demons would get stuck at certain parts of the level that change dynamically. This is no longer the case. We have also made improvements to the AI system which drastically improved performance and we've also made some changes to the aiming system which we hope make for a more intuitive experience, but we'll need your feedback on that when we hopefully publish an update this weekend!! It's just a quick announcement to keep you all in the loop about the development and that in the next update should hopefully be the new Cave level which will contain one objective map and one defense map. On a side note, I have a little bit of a plea to all you awesome guys who have been Congo-ing it up since our early access release. Unfortunately, we have had a few negative reviews recently which has bumped us down to the 'Mixed' category which is pretty heart-wrenching for us to see and a scary shade of red.. Congo v1.0 Full Release on 21st March! : Jungle Survivors! Congo v1.0 (Full Release) will be available on Monday 21st March 2016 at 5pm GMT and the v1.0 release will come with a ton of new features, fixes and content. We will also be releasing with a 25% discount, so for those of you waiting for the right moment to give Congo a go, next week is a great time! Some of the new features to check out in the full release are: New Levels - Objective and Defense The release version of CONGO will have 6 Objective maps and 16 Defense maps. All new objective levels come with new achievements too! New Camera Angle After lots of feedback from you guys (and the introduction of our new tree hiding system) it has meant that we can adjust the camera angle to be lower, giving you a longer line of sight to see the demons coming. New and Improved Jungle We've added in tonnes of new jungle plants and trees and the whole jungle on every level has been completely rebuilt! Check out the difference: New Tree Hiding System Our new tree hiding system quite literally cuts a hole in the foliage to see around you, eliminating some graphical bugs we were encountering and also enabled a lower camera angle. New Player Progression You can now gain XP in a number of different skill sets that gradually improve your abilities such as run speed, attack speed and more, as well as being able to start each game with an array of items and weapons to give you and your team the edge the more experienced you become. New Weather System It can now rain in the jungle! The rain storms switch up the way you have to navigate and fight your way through the jungle. Hundreds of Bug Fixes and Tweaks We've plowed through hundreds and hundreds of bugs fixes that we have found and have been flagged you guys. We have also improved the AI system, control systems, menus and much, much more. More details will be available on Release day.
