About This Game

Coffin Dodgers sees you take on the role of saving one of seven quirky retirement village residents, each racing for their soul in "pimped up" mobility scooters against none other than the Grim Reaper himself. Our old heroes are armed with a variety of homemade weapons and gadgets to take on anything the Grim Reaper and his Zombie army may throw at them. Can you survive the retirement village?

Players must battle it out against The Grim Reaper and other competitors over a 13 race Championship, where only the most skilled racer will survive. There are 4 distinct areas within the Sunny Pines Retirement Community, each featuring it's own mini tournament in which your rank against other competitors will ensure you progress to the next stage; however finish bottom of the pile and the Reaper gets to take your soul. The final race takes place over each of the 4 areas in a straight shoot out between you and the Grim Reaper.

As the game progresses the game environment becomes more and more apocalyptic as Grim's shadow slowly engulfs Sunny Pines. Look out for Grim's retinue of fiendish friends as they try and halt your progress.

Welcome to a suburban retirement village where all is not as it seems…

After settling down to recover from the responsibilities of working life, the residents of Sunny Pines have been idling away the days, life could not be more tranquil.

However, a creepy new resident, Mr Grim Reaper, looks set to turn retirement on its head. After years trawling the earth for souls to harvest, Mr Grim Reaper concludes Sunny Pines is where he’ll lay his hat, where he can harvest souls from the comfort of his rocking chair. However, seven of the sprightliest senior citizens have other ideas and set out to prove that life for Grim in Sunny Pines definitely won't be like shooting fish in a barrel.

The stately seven decide to strike a deal with the Grim Reaper; a mobility scooter racing championship to the death. If they can prove themselves to be fast and full of life, surviving and ultimately winning the championship, then he will allow them to live. However, too slow and they will be condemned to the retirement village in the sky.

What the Reaper doesn’t tell the folk of Sunny Pines is that once he takes your soul he can bring you back as one of his army of the living dead; mobility scooter racing zombies that are hell bent on making sure that nobody wins, by any means possible. 1075eedd30

This is a back to basics kart racer that does the fundamentals quite well. Overall quite fun but lacking in design variety. The tracks are pretty solid; one of my favourite parts is that the final track is a sort of combination of the best parts of every other zone. Simple yet cute\/funny story.

The negative points to take into consideration are that online is dead, optimization is mediocre for having quite antiquated graphics, and some of the achievements are obnoxious (eg. win an online race on Christmas, Halloween, Valentines, Monday-Friday, etc). You can still get the online achievements by competing with AI in a network match though,. Does not work on Vive. (More specifically; does not load game map when trying to start a match - or it takes 10+ minutes maybe? I don't know, but single player loading should not take that long...)

Videos looks fun though. Based on videos of gameplay, I'd reccommend you and your Oculus buds get this game at the huge -80% discount for Winter Sale 2018 and try this out for me. :D Can't blame anyone but myself for getting this game even though Vive is not included on the supported list.. Does not work on Vive. (More specifically; does not load game map when trying to start a match - or it takes 10+ minutes maybe? I don't know, but single player loading should not take that long...)

Just some minor bug fixes with this latest patch, including the following:

• Graphical issues in the end of race leaderboards have been resolved.
• HUD fixes in split screen multiplayer - resizing of assets etc

Hi guys,

We were made aware of a bug by one of the Steam community (thanks Mr Juggernaut!) in which the text for the story mode wasn't showing up in the Russian language.

We believe the issue is resolved now but please do let us know if you have any more experiences of this or notice any other bugs for that matter.

Hi guys,

We are very pleased to announce the arrival of online multiplayer. We know the community have been excited about it for a while now and it is something we have been working hard to deliver.

We have decided to release this new game mode a little earlier than initially planned with the hope that we'll get lots of players in the game and the community will really get involved and give us lots of feedback and become part of the development process.

Please remember this is still an early access release and so you can expect a few bugs here and there.

We have set up a dedicated discussion thread for all your thoughts and comments which will hopefully consolidate all feedback and allow us to respond and fix anything a lot quicker.

Despite it being a little rough around the edges, we really hope you enjoy the online multiplayer and can't wait to find out what you think.

Of course, as with all updates there are a number of additions/fixes to report. The full list can be found below:

• Added online multiplayer race mode

Beat the Reaper

Hi guys,

We are very pleased to announce the Coffin Dodgers Time Trial Competition - Beat the Reaper.

The Grim Reaper (or in the case one of the dev team) has set a fiendishly fast time on a single track and it is up to you to try and beat it for your chance to win some great goodies.

To enter the competition you have to record a time in the Time Trial game mode on Village track 1 (Devil's Horseshoe). You can choose to play as any player (except for the Grim Reaper) and you can use any scooter, including any upgrades you like. Once you have recorded your time you must grab a screenshot and post it to @_MrGrimReaper twitter feed or post it as a screenshot on Steam.

To be a valid entry your time must be faster than 1 minute 42 seconds and your screenshot should be as the example below, showing character name and time.

The closing date for entries is the 4th January 2016. The winner will be announced on the 5th January 2016.

The winner will receive a signed Milky Tea Screen Print , x3 Coffin Dodgers Steam keys to share with friends and an Alienware goodie bag.

We are extremely pleased to be able to include two brand new game modes in this latest update, they are:

Crazy Granddad - Single Player
Snatch - Online Multiplayer

NOTE: Crazy Granddad is temporarily accessed through a portal in the Open World > Explore mode.

We are very excited about this release and anxious to see what you guys think? We hope they'll give an indication as to the multitude of different game modes that will be possible in the Open World. We have set up a dedicated discussion thread and so please direct any thoughts and feedback there.

We are aware people have been having difficulties with their gamepads and so we hope this latest update will also go some way to solve this.

We are very pleased to announce today that the 13th and final track is now available.

We know people have been asking about this for a while and really wanting to be able to complete the game - potentially it will unlock an extra character, you'll have to play it and see :)

. Coffin Dodgers Update 1.2.4:

Hi guys,

We are very pleased to announce the latest Coffin Dodgers update includes localisation for three more languages:

• Chinese
• Japanese
• Korean

The full list of fixes/additions can be seen below:

• (Addition) Added Japanese, Chinese and Korean language modes.
• (Change) Updated joypad maps so more pads should be supported on more platforms.
• (Bug) Pad remapping fixed to stop getting stuck mapping a button
• (Bug) Fixed missing achievements.
• (Bug Linux/Steam OS) Some Linux users have had issues with split screen showing the same view for all players. Sometimes its related to hardware antialiasing. For this reason we default antialiasing off on Linux platforms at the start of a split screen race. (you can always turn it on again manually if you are desperate).
• (Bug) Fixed some small texture issues and lots of other small issues.
•(Improvement) Pause menus now hide options you cant use rather than just tinting them.
• (optimisations) New HUD layouts and code changes for better optimisation.
