Professional spies don't just get fired like regular people. Instead, they get "burned". And when you are burned, you're exposed and left with absolutely nothing to your name. No cash, no credit, no credit score, no job history, and you're stuck in whatever city the agency decides to leave you in. Michael Westen is one such spy. He was burned and decides to take his revenge on the people who burned him. But in order to do so, he decides he cannot do this alone, so he teams up with people from his past. His former partner Sam Axe, an ex-Navy SEAL who used to rat on him to the FBI and more than enjoys a good cocktail or two. And his on again, off again ex-girlfriend Fiona Glenanne, who enjoys explosives and firearms as much as fashion and yogurt. Together, they take on cases that help individuals throughout the city of Miami, while Michael puts together the pieces of the puzzle about the people that burned him. And they will need lots of yogurt and C4 in order to do so.
A spy recently disavowed by the U.S. government uses his special ops training to help others in trouble.
I want this to be successful but think it may run out of steam. There are only so many chase scenes you can have. The lead is wooden just like he was in mr monk and the astronaut. bruce campbell and sharon gless seemed wasted here and breathe life in an otherwise very emotionally restrained series.

After awhile I could see Miami fatigue setting in for this series.

Unanswered question: Why are they talking about meters if in Miami? How would his Mom be able to do the conversion?

The Cagney and Lacey nod was great.

I will keep watching to see if it improves. This is probably my favorite show. Never fails to keep my attention. I really like the way they add details about what they are doing. My favorite character is Fiona. Not only do I find her to be about the most attractive woman on TV (nice eye candy), but she has a great edge. Probably my next favorite is Madeline. She is a minor character in the series, but she adds so much humor. I find Michael is Michael, and definitely Jeffrey Donovan does a believable job with his role. Sam is my least favorite of the major characters, but I think Bruce Campbell does a great in this role, and the show would not be the same without him. There has not been a single bad episode, and I have seen all but a couple. I cannot give this a 10, but 9 will be the highest I have given anything.

Michael wears the Oliver Peoples Victory sunglasses. Oliver Peoples no longer makes the Victory frames, in the 55s (which is Michael's lens size) or the 58s. The lens color is the cognac, which is available via special order on just about all of the sunglasses OP has to offer.

Recently (Spring 2010), Oliver Peoples rereleased the 55s in the gold/cognac color combination. It is unknown how long the new run will last. In the pilot it's established that Fiona is Irish and as such she speaks with an Irish accent. In the second episode she greets Michael using an American accent. When he asks her about it she says she "can't go around Miami sounding like a freaking leprechaun". later it's determined that in order to hide from her numerous enemies, she took on an American accent. In the episode Long Way Back season 3 episode 9 her brother Sean discusses her accent change briefly with her.
