Building Muscle Mass With Exercise - Exercise Tips For Massive Mass-Building

Most will know that the key to hypertrophy (muscle growth) is to stimulate the muscle fibers with heavy weights so that they respond and adapt by increasing in size to accommodate the new, heavier workload. This has led to guys picking up the heaviest weight they can find and practically throwing it around the gym floor and calling it a rep!

all to often forget their form and get little to no benefit from the exercises they are doing. To avoid this key error make sure any weight you are lifting can be lifted for six to eight repetitions with good form. On the lowering or eccentric phase of each lift be sure not to allow the weight to simply drop. Bring it down in a slow and controlled manner as this eccentric phase is the key to building muscle mass. Now with that said and assuming you are now going to watch your form we can look at some alternate techniques for really stimulating the muscle fibers to grow.

One technique is to try and recruit muscle fibers that you do not use as much by adding alternate exercises. For example if your arm workout normally has barbell curls why not change to dumbbell curls for a period of 4-6 weeks. Obviously you may already be doing both of these already but look for alternative techniques. YouTube is a great place to find new innovative ways of training you may have not have thought of before.

Super-sets are when we perform two exercises in succession to really work the muscle groups hard. Some people like to work the same muscle group where as sometimes it is beneficial to work opposing muscle groups such as performing an arm curl followed by a triceps extension. This advanced techniques will induce significant fatigue and should not be overused as they will cause over-training and negatively affect our aim of building muscle mass.
