Everyone pulls a book from a shelf, reads an article from a Testmax Nutrition Review  magazine, or watches a news program about a particular diet plan and thinks it will automatically work for them. The problem is that while the concept of the diet may work correctly and as advertised, it may not work in reality because there are several adjustments that have to be made. If you read the fine print at the end of these books, these articles or at the end of the programs, you will see that the diet is based on a person of a certain weight. In most cases, what you will see is based on a 150pound person.


In other cases, you will see a calorie count or calorie need listedusually 2000 per day. The problem is that not everyone is going to do well with that many calories. Some people may need as few as 1400 calories while others may need as many as 2000 or maybe even slightly more.People forget that we are not all the same size. Look at your husband or wife and see how much taller they are than you, or how much shorter. Determining how much protein you need, how many calories you need and what you should include in your diet, depends on your height, your weight, and your activity level.

Certain types of health conditions can change how much you need to eat and how much protein you need, but that is a consideration that will have to be discussed with the doctor. There are certainly times in your life when you will need additional calories and additional protein, but there are other times when the needs do not change. Before you think you should make any major changes to your diet at all, you should discuss this with a doctor, a nutritionist, or a dietician.Determining How Much Protein You Need By Your Size

How tall you are as well as how much you weigh will be one of the first factors you use to determine how much protein that you realistically need by first determining how many calories you need. Your body needs a set amount of calories to maintain your current weight. If you want to lose weight, you need to reduce the amount of calories that you take in, but not so much that you shut down your metabolism. For those people who are actually trying to gain weight or to bulk up, it may be necessary to increase calories but despite the myths that surround the idea, you do not need to go overboard with calories or protein.
