Jenny Evaporates 6 Years of Acid Reflux Suffering "Within Two Days"

There is a wealth of resources for home remediesHeartburn No More Reviewfor heartburn. If you are dealing with heartburn often, you might want to look into some of these remedies in order to reduce, if not totally eliminate your discomfort. Heartburn happens to a lot of people. Some have it once a month, others more frequently.Unless you are pregnant, your heartburn is most likely due to poor eating habits and unwise food choices. What you eat and how you eat can cause the Lower Esophageal Sphincter (it's the muscle between the esophagus and the stomach) to relax, allowing the contents of your stomach to spill back to the esophagus. Some of these contents are acids which irritate the esophageal walls, triggering the burning sensation called heartburn.

Heartburn does not mean that your heart is burning. It only feels that way because the pain often radiates to the chest. People used to heartburn immediately take an antacid to find relief. Usually, it works almost immediately. The problem is, taking antacids often can cause a range of side effects, depending on their components.Gum - If you're not sure what to do for heartburn, chewing gum or sucking on a lozenge for 30 minutes after meals increases the production of saliva which can help neutralize the acid. Saliva can also relieve heartburn by bathing the esophagus and lessening the effects of acid refluxed into the esophagus by washing it back down to the stomach.

Potatoes - I know this is a head scratcher... but some people swear by this heartburn home remedy. Take some raw potatoes and extract juice by putting it in a grinder. Don't peel the potatoes - grind them and add them in some other juice for taste. Drink the mixture once you have the first signs of heartburn. Potatoes have soothing qualities and can help you treat esophageal ulcers and alleviate burning sensations in your esophagus. Drink the juice made from potatoes at least twice a day.

Marshmallow - We're not talking about your sit- around-the-campfire marshmallows. This is referring to the herb marshmallow (Althaea officinalis) which contains mucilage, and is thought to coat and soothe the lining of the esophagus. Herbalists recommend marshmallow root tea which is made by adding one tablespoon of the dried root to a cup of boiling water, steeping it covered for at least 10 minutes, and then straining. It's suggested to drink 3 cups of this a day.
