Don't even try to spot reduce your love handles, you will just end wasting your time and energy. Spot reducing is the action you taker repeatedly trying to get rid of fat in just one area of your body, in this case your love handles. You are not going to be able to do enough side bends or sit-ups to get rid of them entirely.
