MOST COMMON EYE DISEASES
There are many eye diseases. Young people most often go to the doctor with complaints of dry eye syndrome, inflammation and visual impairment. In old age, in addition to the aforementioned diseases, the most common problems are cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration.

In order to increase patient awareness, we provide below information on the most common eye diseases.

INFLAMMATION OF THE Mucous membrane of the eye
A very common problem is inflammation of the mucous membrane. In this case, patients complain of tingling in the eyes, redness, tearing and festering. Inflammation occurs suddenly and prevents the usual way of life. In adults, viruses are the cause of inflammation in 70% of cases. There is no adequate treatment against such inflammations, but cold compresses on the eyelids and moisturizing drops help relieve the condition. Bacterial inflammation of the mucous membrane occurs in about 30% of cases, and it must be treated with eye drops containing antibiotics. In children, inflammation of the mucous membrane is mainly of a bacterial nature, the eyes turn red and fester strongly. In this case, drops containing an antibiotic will come to the rescue.
If there are complaints indicating inflammation, it is first worth visiting a family doctor who will prescribe anti-inflammatory drops if necessary. In case of repeated problems, it is reasonable to consult an eye doctor.
