People with diabetes are at a threat to a long-term illness affecting the eyes, kidneys, heart, brain, feet, and nerves. We quite exactly run on sugar — every cell and organ in our body needs glucose. The food we intake breaks down into glucose which is ready to get absorbed by our bloodstream and insulin, a hormone formed in the pancreas supports our body to take glucose out of the bloodstream and put it into our cells to be transformed into energy and is stored for later use. If we eat up too much sugar or high-glycemic carbohydrates such as potatoes, white bread, cakes, and cookies, we face a rapid inflow of blood sugar. BPS 5 Our body must rush in to compensate with a spike of insulin to take care of the sudden excess of glucose, leaving us tired and short-tempered.
